faulty pegs

By period3, in X-Wing

My decimator and outrider both have very loose pegs, so that as soon as I pick up the ship the base falls off. I've heard of other people having this problem. Has anyone contacted FFG about it? I would if I thought they'd send me improved pegs, but if it's an issue everyone has then I'd probably just get sent a new set of too-loose pegs.

Its a pretty common thing.

it's not the peg, it's the socket. here is a quick easy fix. lay a small peice of scotch tape sticky side down across the peg, then gently push it into the socket, then trim away whatever tape is sticking out. be careful that you do not break the socket. this snugged mine up great and i can now move it by picking up the model and it all stays together.

in order fr them to fix it, They would just have to flat out replace an awful lot of ships, as most of us have this same issue. I am told that saran wrap or cling also works

^ Thanks for the tip! ^ I have that problem with all of my large ships, this will help a lot.

I paint my bases and pegs with arcylic paint, that seems to solve the issue of loose pegs

Yeah, this has been an issue as of late. I use mine on the epic ship bases, first because it feels a lot more stable than the two pegs (these ships are pretty big, after all) and it fits pretty snugly into the looser sockets.

i have a different issue with all my large base ship pegs, after some play they tend to split and shatter at the bottom end attachment points. anyone know if FFG is selling spare pegs seperately. i won 3 shuttles, 2 falcons, 2 firesprays, 1 decemator and 1 YT-2000, struggling to find playable pegs to play 2 large ships in the same game :(

Use the huge ship base and stand works great

Plastic pegs of doom......just put the models to one side and use the awesome power of imaginarium, that is a word....er honest

I cant find it now but FFG emailed someone a response that essentially said "tough luck" and that it was within the level of tolerance to ship.

Nice

It eventually works after you use huge peg once or twice

This has proven to be a common problem with Wave 5 ships. To me it seems the hole in the mounting pegs are not as deep as we are used to. They also seem to be slightly cone shaped which only serves to make the problem worse. I'm currently investigating if some simple drilling can solve the problem.

If the pegs broke, contact FFG. They normally replace them.

It's not the pegs it's the female socket on the ship and there's really little they can do about that without replacing the whole ship which isn't financially Viable just because it's loose.
