Dice rerolls: Attack -> Gunner -> Target Lock -> Predator -> Focus

By xvc, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi again!

Another one: situation as follows:

Roll 1. Pilot does attack (all evaded)

Roll 2: Uses Gunner as a new Attack

ReRoll 1: Target Lock use - reroling ie. 2 dice

ReRoll 2: Predator - reroling 1 dice

Than all eyes to hits with Focus

Is that legit?

Thanks

It's only legit if you don't re-roll a single die more than once.

Thanks!

One more: Gunner is a new attack - not a reroll (to be shure)

Gunner is a completely new attack,

Roll 1. Pilot does attack (all evaded) (yep)

Roll 2: Uses Gunner as a new Attack (yep)

ReRoll 1: Target Lock use - reroling ie. 2 dice (fine)

ReRoll 2: Predator - reroling 1 dice - This is only fine if you are re-rolling a different die to ReRoll 1 - A dice may only be re-rolled once per attack, and as such any dice re-rolled by the target lock CANNOT be re-rolled again by predator.

Than all eyes to hits with Focus (fine)

Perfect THX

I guess we could also note there is nothing stopping you from using Predator on the first attack while still saving the TL/Focus tokens for later. Remember that you do all the attack dice modifications before you are supposed to roll Defense so if you threw down [blank][eye][boom] with that first attack you would modify those dice before you have any idea that your opponent will roll [squiggly][squiggly][squiggly] for defense.

As we are noting you can not reroll the same die more than once. There are a few things an opponent could do to cause you to reroll attack dice, or at least have them count as being rerolled, and if they reroll them there is nothing you can do about that. When it comes time for you to modify dice TL, Predator, and Han's Ability are all fighting over the same dice pool; if you use Han first then you couldn't use the other two (Han rolls everything he can) but if you are going to use TL you might as well reroll anything you were going to roll with Predator otherwise just use Predator and save the TL.
