Imperial Hospitality - Possible Spoilers

By huud007, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Some of my players did this story mission today. I pretty much annihilated them. Now, I know they made a mistake of charging towards a wave of my forces; but as I think of it...I don't really know how they were going to make it out of there alive with the prisoner.

So I wanted to ask the community: Has anyone won that mission as the Rebels? If so, what was your strategy?

My only theory is perhaps moving everyone into a nice corner and let the Imperials come to you since there's no time limit on this mission.

Played this one last night, and it was the first win for the Imperials where the Rebels didn't stand a chance.

When the door opened I pretty much ignored all the heroes and pounced on the poor captive (and the heroes couldn't even protect him because they were all maxed out on endurance).

Couple things I think the Rebels could have done:

1) Resting. No round limit = resting is beneficial. Gain back strain to help deliver more powerful blows/choose to be the target of the attack instead of the captive

2) Protecting the middle hallway. There's a green deployment point and two red deployment points near the top of the map. I had a couple of active groups near the data center in the beginning to make sure that the terminal was protected. As soon as I blasted away the lone smuggler trying to destroy it, I had more than enough time to get all those troops near the entrance to clog it up. Leaving an angry wookie at the end of the hallway to eliminate some troops/soak up some damage may help make the way back to the entrance a little easier for the captive.

Ha, I'm opposite, I'm not sure how IP wins. As I've mentioned elsewhere, depends on rebel setup. Against 3 heroes who know what they're doing, not sure how IP wins. Especially if heroes ignore data center (which would be better approach, you just don't know that the first time through). Have someone against the captive at all times, and that hero just rests to keep their strain at 0, and other heroes kill off IP troops to reduce their attack options. Played at threat level 4, which wasn't helpful b/c I either save up (and captive moves easily) or deploy weak troops who are just killed by Gaarkhan anyway.
