The continuing saga

Here's a recap to my battles so far.

Games 3 and 4

Games 5-10

6-4 record to date.

So today I went out to try and improve that record. I'm looking to maybe participate in a tournament at the FLGS next weekend if I'm off from work, so went to try a list I'd found elsewhere on the forum.

Dash Rendar - HLC, Lone Wolf, Outrider

2x Blue Squadron - Ion Cannon

I was up against

Kath Scarlet - Veteran Instincts, Engine Upgrade

Rear Adm Chiraneau - Expose, Moff Jerjerrod, Tactician, Rebel Captive

Knowing I was going to have to really think my maneuvers through, I decided to focus the B Wings on 1 ship at a time (Kath) and hopefully keep Dash within range but still able to capitalize on the Lone Wolf (which I ended up forgetting about until towards the end...)

After the first round, you can see I was put in the position of having my forces isolated from each other, and was going to be working hard to survive this!

I managed to Ion Kath, but it wasn't very helpful with the Decimator right behind. I was also working to get Dash into the fight instead of just wasting his points.

One of the B Wings went down from focused fire, leaving me without the ability to really use the Ion Cannon effectively. So I just started plucking away.

By the way, barrel rolls are fun.

As you can see, the other B Wing was lost.

So I just started working on Kath with Dash, hoping to get rid of the Firespray before the Decimator got back in the fight.

There's a first time for everything however. Completely misjudging how much space I had, and thinking a barrel roll would help me with a tight maneuver, I ended up off the table.

So I probably could have won (Dash was only down 1 shield while the Deci had a few shields gone), pilot error gave the victory to my opponent.

<_<

Trying for redemption, and going with a list I know I enjoy, it was back to the 4 X-Wings for me.

Luke Skywalker - R2 Astromech

Biggs Darklighter - R2D2

2x Rookie Pilot

Just a minor change for my opponent:

Kath Scarlet - Veteran Instincts

Rear Admiral Chirineau - Expose, Tactician, Rebel Captive, Mara Jade, Tactical Jammer

Staying in formation while my opponent tries to outflank me.

Or so I thought..

I did a bit more bumping in this one than I normally do, trying to get around the asteroids and misjudging distances.

I finally changed my focus to the Decimator

And managed to take it out with some good anticipation (and an injured pilot card)

I was too eager to get my X-Wings back on target, and managed to K turn one right off the board... Oh my!

But chased the Firespray around for a few turns

Eventually getting the victory. So 1-1 for me today, 7-5 overall, not horrible. I think if I were to go to the tournament I'd run with the X-Wings again, at least until I get more comfortable with some other ships. R2D2 with Biggs really came in handy, having lost all shields and taking a "Direct Hit" damage as my first damage, I managed to get both shields back several times during this game.
