has anyone tried elusiveness on Keyan?

By nikk whyte, in X-Wing

i havent done it yet, but a super survival build would look like

keyan, elusiveness, /e2, 3po

depending on the order of attacking, elusiveness could trigger twice and 3po stops one hit for sure. its not optimized for damage dealing, but it could be a fun, cheap way to keep keyan around a bit longer.

I don't think its a great idea, the only way it works well is if you have at least 1 higher PS ship and 1 lower PS ship shooting at him each round. If there is no higher PS ship, keyan can't use the stress for his attack and trigger elusiveness again.

For two points try stay on target

keyan is only 7 though. just about everything in a tournament setting will aim higher than that, or be split between one high PS and filler.

For two points try stay on target

that sounds nice and all, but i dont wanna change my dial. i want stress, and the chance to up my defense is just gravy.

It's not that you want to change the dial all the time. It's so you can make sure you're stressed and facing a direction to fire and remove that stress. And while the PS games is still going on, 7 isn't bad anymore. A lot of lists are PTL superdashes and as long as you make sure they have initiative you'll always be able to point keyan at them.

Also consider that elusiveness requires them to target keyan. If you aren't stressed and they don't fire at you, then no stress. Stay on target makes sure you'll always have stress.

Then by all means give it a try. I've used it a few times (although not on Keyan), and its quite lacklustre. In fact, its very questionable whether it will up your defense at all...

Just use PtL,

then you choose when you get stressed + extra actions when needed

Elusiveness & Opportunist depend on others, PtL gives you control when he gets stressed

i have before, to great success. but i only have 2 points. maybe i'll try out stay on target. it just seems very "please let me squeak around this guy." i dont like the guess work.

i supposed i could purposely fly in the wrong direction, and stay on target to where i actually wanted to be. hmmm. it'll need to be tested.

i suppose lone wolf actually works better, since it gives a boost to attack and every single defense roll. hmm.

That's what I do sometimes. It's also really nice when you see where you're opponents blocker was headed and go in a completely different direction.

As long as you stay in the range 3 plus bubble...

Otherwise it does nothing

Try Farlando instead.

Farlander, PtL, Advanced Sensors, E2, Lando. Cannon to taste.

Jan crew in another ship nearby makes it even better. Really fun to play and ups his resilience considerably.

Set a 2 k-turn every move. Stay on Target gives you access to every heading to help you get your shot and guarantees you a stress.
