Holy €%#}!!! The Tie Advanced is a BEAST with Tie x1 and Accuracy Corrector. I ran Vader and a tempest with those upgrades just to get a feel for both. Vader has so many options available to him now that I may never pick up a rebel ship again. The freedom to go fully defensive and know you will score two hits makes playing such an expensive ship so much more fun. Even against Wedge I was not that worried sitting on an evade and focus. The tempest was the real hero though. Vader got focused down as expected about halfway through the game(engine would have changed that) and the tempest did some major butt kicking. For 21 points the tempest is a true bargain on par with the shuttle IMO. The freedom to choose between your dice rolls or the AC at range 1 is a huge bonus for this setup. I was able to keep good rolls and use the AC for the rest making the choice of using or saving your focus much less painful. I am now thinking of trying a shuttle/Tie X1 list. This game is now nearly perfect.

What actions were best on that tempest? Also do you foresee any purpose to using storm squadron?

When would you include engine on an adv?

Try the ATC computer on Vader instead of the AC. I liked the damage output from that better and with Predator on Vader I didn't find it to be much less consistent. I'll be flying the generics with AC but the named will probably be getting ATC.

Also can anyone tell me where a good place to be a cheap as and has good color images of the cards I can arrange for print?

I am just so happy to finally see the Advanced get the loving it's long deserved.

Vader could make great use of an engine to have boost and barrel roll available and still be putting out two damage a turn regardless of having any offensive actions. I see him as a phantom lite that is going to be hard to nail down or kill with that setup. With the tempest I just focused unless I was range three then I evaded due to having 4 dice. I used barrel roll quite a few times since focus was not as important even if it just helped line up a better move for the next turn and not to arc dodge.

I pulled mine from the FFG website. I was able to fit 4 each of the title, accuracy corrector, and advanced targetting computer and then 1 copy of the new pilot. It cost less than a dollar to get the the sheet printed on card stock at Fedex/Kinkos.

I bought my wife a really nice color laser printer for Christmas so I printed them out on heavy card stock and they are almost identical to the real cards.

I'd love to have the y wing and auto thrusters too.

You can just google the title of the card to pretty much get any card. Then, you can just put it in a word doc. Easy peasy

I'd like to see how Mareek Steele does with the Advanced Targeting Computer.

I have to admit that I've been psyched for Xmas to get my 4 Tie Bombers and play with them, but I have had a hard time thinking about them since they announced the Tie Advanced fix. Q1 is too far away....

On Vader. Because of his two actions each round combined with high PS.

The Advanced already has four actions in the action bar. A fifth is not very useful with only one action per round.

First go with upgrades tomorrow, Vader will be out to play, can't wait. I was hoping that my 2nd advanced would have arrived by now as I ordered it before Christmas on the Raider release.

I think I'd probably still take Predator on Maarek and just accept that there would be some rounds that he'd be taking a target lock action.

I don't really think the Proton Rockets are going to be worth taking on ships with ATC but might be worth taking on ships with AC to give them a little extra punch.

Seriously though, he's going to be an interesting list centerpiece moving forward. He works well in a lot of contexts, but I think there's going to be a lot of personal preference involved in deciding what to fly alongside him. A newly-viable PS9 pilot is definitely not a small change!

I was really happy with the way 3 Tempests and Darth Vader worked out and am looking forward to flying them more frequently once the Raider is released. I'm also looking forward to having Vader flying with a Decimator.

I wouldn't takek PTL on Mareek. I'd use Predator or go vanilla. With the green options on a Tie Advanced, I don't think it's worth getting stressed over.

ATC only works for primary weapons. So, no missiles.

I think Cluster Missiles with Accuracy Corrector will be good. You can roll the dice, see how it is, and then pick 2 hits if you don't like it. It pretty much ensures you will get at least 2 hits and then 2 hits on someone. I'd love to fire that at a B-wing with just 1 evade.

I think that ATC would normally be the better choice but in the build for him that I'm considering I would probably be taking Ruthless as Alozens EPT and I'd be taking the AC instead of ATC to use with Cluster Missiles. Use the free TL to fire off the Cluster Missiles and then the AC to make sure he gets at least two hit results on each attack. The rest of the time he'll be able to benefit from the AC without having to worry about whether his locked target is the target he'll have a shot at this round. When he does end up in range one with a free TL treat it as a happy accident and see if you can get 3 hits on whatever is in front of you.
