So I got my Decimator yesterday (yay gift cards!!) and though I'm not playing with it for awhile (I'm waiting to finish writing my book before I crack open any of the expansion packs I've been collecting these past months) I'm already playing around with possible builds for it.

So here is...

The build is meant to use the bulk of the Decimator to take hold of the center space on the board, with the TIEs as harasser units. No upgrades or modifications, just a lot of mass and strength in numbers.

Thoughts?

Cow makes me think of the shuttle. I would call it Flies on a Rhino. I think I would down grade the Blacks and add Rebel Captive to the Chipy.

The largest dairy farm in the state is just down the road from me, and there are fields of dairy cattle on two sides of my house. "Cows" was what came first to mind

If I downgrade down to all Academy, withe the Rebel Captive I would have 3 points left... enough for Darth Vader as a crew. THAT could come in handy/nasty.

Okay, question: I'm not seeing how Vader shouldn't be paired with Chiranaeu. What am I missing here?

Awright, second question: who should be commanding the Decimator instead?

If you're putting Vader on it, the thought is that that Decimator is going to die, speedily. So, you want fewer points spent on it.

Generic or Oicunn is probably the best choice. (Oicunn because his ability can also do unblocked damage)

If you have black squadrons you NEED to try draw their fire it's incredible with decimator a. You have room for two.

Then take oicunn and whatever else you want. A gunner. Or predator.

Very tanky reliable. Has decent damage. Predator let's you ran with impunity.

One point for initiative makes any mini swarm phantom and full tie swarm match up much easier. These are what I'd expect to be harder match ups. You have decent enough bulk for fat Han. A variation you can do is to drop the black and dtf to academy and give oicunn rebel captive. However. Draw their fire is really excellent.

Another choice is dropping both predator and oicunn and black dtf to get howlrunner patrol leader and darth vader Crew on patrol leader

Looking at the original I'll second adding DtF to the Black Squadron Pilots. If someone is shooting at the big ship that must be what they want dead first but if you can suck off a few [kabooms] it should last longer while continuing to perform.

Also like suggestions that alter the TIE makeup a bit either letting you add upgrades to the Decimator or make the TIE's more effective.

The thing is it would be foolish not to take engine upgrade on this guy due to high pilot skill and built in focus.
