Rebel Transport Advice

By Rhoaran, in X-Wing

I'm pleased to have gotten a rebel transport as an early birthday present. I have not played epic before, but the transport looks like it has lots of fun options. I love playing with HWK and control lists so it seems to be a good fit.

How have you built them successfully in the past?

Quantum Storm, backup shield generator, comms booster. Start with that and you have a ship that can provide lots of support to allied fighters while also being very capable of self preservation. I'm not sure if I can recommend slicer tools with this build, unless your support can create a lot of stress.

My favorite loadout you can only do w/ multiple epic ships

GR-75 w/ 3 comms boosters

If you only have one transport, you could do this

GR-75 w/ Quantum Storm title, Toryn Farr & Comms booster

It's only 44pts and can use coordinate & comms to action stack on your escorts, or Jam + Toryn to debuff enemy ships. Just keep it cheap and focused on maximizing the other ships attacks. If it can absorb some heavy fire or get a good ramming kill or two that's icing on the cake. For the cost of 2 naked blue squadron B wings.

thanks for the tips. Is combat refit worth it? It seems like 12 hit points us not enough with zero agility.perhaps I will use a YT 2400 with tactical jammer to help give me some defense dice. Vrill would be good for this duty and transport could generate stress.

I never have gone without combat retrofit, but if you take it you should start considering the repair droid. Not having the droid when you are facing easy crits makes the transport lose its effectiveness very quickly. If the 12 points are there, do it, but it can be spent elsewhere just as effectively.
