You know I had never heard of that story till someone mentioned it here. I hated it. I actully had to stop reading it for a min right after RD said she wanted to go home before she was killed. It actully hurt to read it, seeing her die.

I want to make my own version were shes saved before she gets killed. The story would be about her recovery, her challange of not being able to fly agian like a normal pegasus, and that no matter what she will always RD and loved very very much by her friends and family.

I think there's only one conclusion we can draw from this...

@Neko I watched a vid showing That blue unicorn actully was a human stuck in the pony world. She is finally able to go back too her true home through the mirror BUT she smashes it after entering it to prevent poines from entering the human world and viceversa. LOL

I grew up with the idea that toys for boys and girls are separate, and toys for girls are rubbish. I remember first encountering this with a few Lego sets "you mean to tell me this set only has two persons and something resembling a house, but more like a wireframe cube..? Would somebody choose this over a *boat*?" In the same context girl cartoons had nonsensical plots about tea parties and slumber parties.

So when I saw a pony-mashup video with a Starcraft 2 trailer, I was a bit intrigued. This show had dragons, manticores, hydras, magic battles? This can't be totally bad.

So I watched the first episode. I liked the central character for being incredibly nerdy and being somehow critical of aspects of the show ("Why would I want to make friends?", "Tell me she isn't singing.." etc.). It was light, joyful, had ok characters and a plot (yes I was suprised there even was one) And then I saw the next, and the next. I don't know if it was my suprise that a girl's show could actually have interesting characters and plots, but I continued watching it. At some point, I concluded that "ponies are cool": It had a very interesting character progression throughout the first season, one you don't see ever in a kids' cartoon, good animation, "fantasy" setting with magic and dragons etc.

The root of the matter is that the show was designed to be watched by kids and their parents', as has been previously stated in this thread.

Fast-forward to today we have 4 seasons' worth of episodes, with season 5 prepared for 2015 I think. Animation quality has increased a lot, character progression has toned down a bit, there are a lot more adult references now (not adult-content but adult-oriented shows, Doctor who ponies appear all the time, Big Lebowski makes an appearance, etc.), battles are more epic, there are more fantasy creatures and world-building lore.

Thats fans for you! Now there are thousands of bronies out there, but the ones that are gonna stand out are the more freaky ones. the rest of them are all normal people who like the odd combo of cute ponies kicking dragons, hydras, manticores, changelings, tribbles and chaos gods in the face!

Now as to why the fanfics are so much nightmare fuel ...

1. You can't make your fanfic any cutier or more awesome than the show already is, so the only path left is going to the darkside.

2. Once again that whole cute/evil contrast can be very intresting.

4. This happens with most (ALL!) fandoms: ther'es harry/hermiony fanfic in wich they kill the Weaslies (putting it lightly)

5. The whole humans wanting to live on equestria thing? It also happened with Avatar and people calling themselves Navi-kin.

I got hooked because I was trying to find an alternate "Happy Birthday" for a friend.

That lead me into Party of One, in which Pinkie Pie goes off the deep end.

I like the show because it managed to be innocent without being insipid. It has good, well-rounded characters, and actually contains a surprising amount of growth for an episodic show.

I don't have time too read the whole story but from what I saw it wasn't creepy. I thought it was badly made though. I don't see how being a pony like from the mlpfim universe is going to make your life better when it comes to relationships with other people when these ponies are 100% mentaly like humans. We see them screwing with people b ponies in the main series, hell their some that work for the forces of darkness. Also if by being a mlpfim pony is so great realationship wise why would Luna feel betrayed by everyone else in their universe? If things are all splendifuris that emotion she felt, as ell as being unlike / unloved wouldn't be possible, or next to imposible.

O before I go on, I saw someone warn everyone off from fanfiction, I can only agree that the stuff that keeps being brought up right now in posts about disturbing mlp fanfic should be avoided. I made a huge list of videos you should check out on youtube, I haven't heard a disturbing mlp fan written song yet.... now that I mention it will now exist.

Now I also find it funny from what I red that the main 6 are repulsed by humans. When you see twilight crossover into a human world in the canon stories she actully is more attracted to the human version of a guy she knows from her universe. This has some crazy issues in itself. Its also not just her ether.

Also the writter thinks humans would just bcome ponies, its their universe so I guess that's ok, but in he canon, when they travel to other universes they become other creatures. So far ponies become humans, dragons become dogs. We also see that the human universe equv characters follow this crazy law. Stranger still is that diamond dogs in the ponies universe are deformed hhumans in this human universe. Its not for sure humansgoing to the ponies universe would become poines.

For all we know that rock that pinkies sister is taking care of was a human that crossed over into the ponies universe.

Well I guess that would help evrone get along right... the onlything peopl would care about then is rock and rol.

I actually wasn't fazed by that. Not the first time someone's written a gorefest of a story, so if anything I was disappointed. All these people hyping it up as the scariest thing on the internet and it was just torture porn. Conversion Bureau contains a lot of ideas that terrify me far more than a serial killer with ADD.

As for Conversion Beaureaueu ... There are two versions. Version A is that our worlds merged, and magicless beings literally cannot survive, so the ponies turn us into ponies to save us. Version B is basically Ponrexia.

This is what happens when I search for "pony Phyrexia" and click on the first result. I wonder if you still have to sacrifice all your permanents when you damage this thing, isn't that the really timid one?

There's a concept called "death by personality loss" that essentially states that such a dratsic change in who you are is like death--Black Knight Leader dies, but Black Knight Leader the pony has his memories. If it helps, just try to imagine taking a hit to the head and suddenly hating ponies, Star Wars, and other things you really enjoy. Then apply it to almost everything else that makes you, you. It makes me think of the Borg or the Reapers, just wrapped in a less threatening appearance and with cutesier names.

I also don't like the misanthropy of it. The lengthy rants about humans ruined everything grated on my nerves when all I had to read were a couple of quotes from the story, I can't imagine how anyone got through an entire story like that.

I haven't heard a disturbing mlp fan written song yet.... now that I mention it will now exist.

For some reason I now have an idea stuck in my head for a Pinkie/cupcakes type crossover fanfic. All I will say is "There are 3 flowers in a vase. The 3rd flower is green."
