You'll like this though, I think we are going to get some more lore on Alicorns!!!! XD Seriously though... Luna, Celestia, and Cadanice look real mournful. By having a living natural Alicorn exist at this point could it cause Luna or Celestia to lose their powers or even slip into another universe...? Perhaps Alicorn boys are not allowed to exist for some unknown reason.../

Today is a very super ultra extra radical extreme cooltastic day! Today is officially R A I N B O W D A S H E S BIRTHDAY!
Ok as I promised I will be talking about "My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria." I really like this book, I give it a 8-10 score. The only thing disappointing about it is that is shows mostly all the conceptual art that they put in the Elements of Harmony book. Well at least its on bigger pages making them easier to see.
What is cool is that it shows art we haven't seen and it goes into behind the scenes information on how each character is to be animated, I haven't noticed it while watching the show but s[specific characters are animated in ways that is not shared with other character to give each character their own unique character lol.This book also goes into a little of the in-univeres and out of-univeres history of the more popular characters, and excluding the 6th season, its up to date. This book also shows how to make your own pony and how to give them personal details. The body is almost always bean shaped, the head is a ball, and the legs are curved triangles.
Point of intrest
*The Ponies were to not ever pick up things with their mouths until Faust changed how the ponies interact with the MLP world.
*Apparently G1 Ponies were so popular a special series was made that had real artwork painted on the sides of them. They were known as Art Ponies.
*Faust thought it was a mistake of DHX and Hasbros to make G2 & G3 focused on Girly things instead of the magic fantasy elements their were in the G1 series.
*G4 Ponies concept art shows them at one point all having harnesses and saddles.
*Applejacks design is nearly identical too the original Faust sketch.
*Could be mistaken but it looks like Rarity had a pet Raccoon in the conceptual art.
*Queen Majesty aka Princess Celesita had Rarities cutie mark.
*The Element of Magic crown was shaped like 5 conjoined horse shoes.

*Princess Twilight Sparkle was colored nearly how she is now except where she had hot pink she had ultra marine blue on her hair and she had a crescent moon with a star for a cutie mark.
*The Pointed shapes and vibrant rainbow color of Rainbow Dash's mane and tail suggest sharpness, speed, and energy and are meant to contrast with her sky-blue body.
*Rainbow Dash's expression are all about body movement and gesture. Although her face clearly demonstrates her state of mind, her body is in constant expressive motion.
*At one point it looks like Fluttershy had three flowers instead of butterflies for her cutie mark, or she was to have three flowers AND three butterflies as a cutie mark.
*Fluttersh's expressiveness is focused primarily in her eyes, because her most potent weapon is "the stare": Any pony or other creature under the power of the Fluttershy Stare is powerless and moved to meekness.
*Some art of Applejack looks at though she is a German pony, also some artwork of Applejack is creepy because she has like dead or fish eyes... I am hopping this was just a mistake while drawing said pictures.
*Applejack's expressions are not as dramatically exaggerated as those of some of the other Mane Six ponies, but that's in keeping with her straight-forward, no-frills, true-blue personality.
*Some artwork of Rarity is in the style of a unicorn you would see at a carousel at a carnival.
*Rarity is one of the most expressive ponies, dramatizing her feelings with theatrical flair.
*At one time Pinkie Pie was a Pegasus pony, and she was depicted bouncing on clouds and surprising people from the air!j
*Pinkie Pie's expressions are less about drama and more about frenetic, 0over-the-top reactions.
*Spike Pretty much looked like he does now
*Celestia pretty much looked liked she does now, except in one picture she has an X for a cutie mark... She likes the Xbox @_@
*Luna was first called Selene.
*Between Luna, Celestia, and Nightmare Moon, Luna had the most conceptual art, and a lot of her characteristic not used in her final art was used for Celestia and Nightmare Moon. Especially her body build, hair, and her wings were changed but the originals were later used for Celestia and Nightmare Moon.
*Luna had a cool looking Crescent Moon crown and in some art work she had a star or two in other parts of her body besides just her cutie mark.
*Princess Luna's coloration is an essential part of her overall design, reflecting her role as the pony who rules the night.
*The Wonderbolts function and colorization is based on the USN Blue Angels.
*King Sombra was overthrown, turned into shadow, and banished to the arctic north by the combined forces of Princesses Celestia and Luna. (So essentially, they turned him into a spirit by taking away his physical form. They are just sidestepping the fact that Luna and Celestia basically killed him by making him the way he is now.)
*Lauren Faust's original dragon design is more suggestive of an elegant, even beautiful creature resembling the pony characters, in the eyes especially.
*There a lot of things in this book that I don't think I have time to cover! I highly recommend this book if you like MLP:FIM it is an art book and in-universe, out of-universe source book and very good one at that.
