Loose the game!

By dvorm, in X-Wing

Consider this thought experiment: Both players intentionally try to loose the game. You cannot forfeit, you have to play. No holds barred. It's a cut-throat competition to loose. How would you try to loose?

As a reminder, page 13 of the rulebook. The scenario above is not a mission.

Winning the Game
When one player destroys all of his opponent’s ships, the game ends and that player wins. If playing a mission, refer to its victory conditions.
In the unlikely event that each player’s final ship is destroyed at the same time, the player with initiative wins.

Fel's Wrath.

Start as close to the edge of the board and just fly off the board. If I wanted to lose intentionally, I want it over as quick as possible.

But why would you bother?

Whats the idea behind the question?

Apart from flying off the board you can always play Snake with the asteroids.

I for one prefer to try and tighten the game. :P

Thing is you can just deliberately miss arcs, you don't actually have to attack and you can fly off the board. Take one Tempest TIE advanced with Enhanced Scopes to win initiative, set up facing the wrong way and forward 5.

If you want a game with bad lists, then construct your opponent's and vice versa. Unlike antichess trying to lose is too easy in this game.

fly a single z or tie into an asteroid repeatedly?? I mean you don't have to field a 100 point squad???

Take one Tempest TIE advanced with Enhanced Scopes to win initiative, set up facing the wrong way and forward 5.

That's the sort of Idea I was looking for. Can anyone loose against that?

well extending logic all the way out.. i would say just field a ZERO point squad... instant loss....

PS 0 phantoms, get out the table first turn. Win... i mean lose.

What's the point tho ?

Loose vs Lose

The words loose and lose are mixed up in writing; for some reason, many people write loosewhen they really mean lose. But there’s no reason to ylose!--ezil12 --> -->lose your mind worrying about this, just lose the extra o!

Loose

Loose is an adjective, the opposite of tight or contained.

My shoes are loose

I have a loose tooth

There’s a dog running loose in the street

Lose

Lose is a verb that means to suffer the loss of, to miss.

I win! You lose!

Don’t lose your keys

I never lose bets

^this

Because here I was about to write a witty reply about how to tighten your game..

Do that anyway sounds funny.

Well, attacking is optional, so if both players are trying to lose, no one will ever fire a shot.

Also, since you can take any points value of ships, you could just take no ships and auto-lose every game.

Assuming there is a minimum points value, I think the best way to win would be this: take as few ships as you can, using as many upgrades as possible to fill out the minimum points, but make sure they all have the system upgrade slot. Give all of them Enhanced Scopes. Between Enhanced Scopes and your low points total, your ships should definitely be moving first. Then, during set up, set all of them up on the very edge of the board facing back towards you. All that remains then is to simply fly them straight forward and off the board. Since you go first, you will lose before the opponent even has a chance to intervene.

What if you did that, but instead of trying to loose you tried to win

Wait.....

position all my ship facing my edge of the map and fly off the map first turn

position all my ship facing my edge of the map and fly off the map first turn

You win! at loosing!!!!

2 ORS. Place one in each corner of your side, and make a 1-turn off the board.

My backwards facing Tempest moves first because Enhanced Scopes and initiative.

I guess that's what the OP is asking for then.
