Disengage does not say you can interrupt to move. Only that you can use it to gain 3 extra movement points. You could use these when he moves next.

Not correct. Page 20 of the RRG. Movement points gained outside of an activation must spend them immediatley (if they choose to do so).

Yes, once an enemy enters the required spaces (within the 3 of Mak) then Mak must move right then and there if he wants to use that Disengage. Enters is the key word, not during or as long as.

Was on the TC video when they did a preview, when a figure come within 4 spaces of him, he moves then away 3 spaces to keep his 'cover'
