Will Most Wanted include extra generics

By 0Dark, in X-Wing

Obviously most of us already have a viable S&V list by default, with Zs, Ys, HWKs and Firesprays. But will we be able to field these as a squadron 'straight out of the box' when Most Wanted is released?

Eg I've got 3 Zs, when I get Most Wanted, that will be 5. Am I ever going to have enough of the same generic pilots to field at least 4 of these? Without resorting to after-market card sales - albeit with an excellent service provided by the likes of Team Covenant for those who just want individual cards.

I have a similar lack of Avenger and Alpha pilots due to them not being included in Imperial Aces.

It would be ideal if FFG include at leat 1 extra of each generic pilot so that players could boost their S&V lists with their existing collection.

I'm going to say no because you only get 2 dials for the Zs and since you can't use rebel dials on scum Zs in tournament format, no reason to do otherwise.

Shame really because, in effect, with my existing ships I would have access to:

Turrets

Missiles

Torpedoes

Bombs

Crew

Cannons

Astromechs

With a possible lack of the requisite pilot cards and - more certainly - a lack of S&V dials, as pointed out by Hujoe above, my dream of fielding an Epic S&V list in February may come to naught!

Scum has its own astromech upgrade. It's called Salvaged Astromech and has an R5 head for the icon. It can't use rebel ones.

Most Wanted treats the Scum Z-95 and Scum Y-wing as different ships. The models themselves are interchangeable and that's it. Main reason is to keep things simple and the sides uniform (rather than having a mishmash of different dials), Most Wanted comes with a Firespray, a HWK, two Y-wings and two Z-95s, it's just that you have to provide the models for half the ships. If they allowed dial mixing what you could run with a single MW would get very complex very fast.

If you're not tournamenting and you're willing to mix dials though, then you can run your four generics. That gives you the full kit for two Z-95s you'll get four Z-95 generics (two Binyare Pirates and two Black Sun Soldiers). However, that also uses all four Z-95 baseplates and locks you out of the named pilots. Dialmixing alone will also allow you to run two HWKs and two Firesprays, although choosing the pilot on one side of the baseplate will lock you out of the other (choosing Mandalorian Mercenary locks you out of Kath Scarlet).

If you're willing to use the wrong colour dials I'd hazard a guess you're also willing to field baseplates in the wrong colour, in which case you can use the Kath Scarlet/Boba Fett Imperial baseplates which are identical save for their green lines where Scum has yellow.

If you're willing to go to the extreme and field the wrong baseplate outright on the generics (the ones for the rebel Z-95s which'll have the wrong name and be one pilot skill off) then you could also run the unique Z-95s.

:) and run the risk of being branded a heretic!

I agree it would be nice to have at least one extra dial for the Scum Z & Y-wings in the box for lists, though I am 100% positive there will be plenty generic pilots in the box. Those of us that are fielding three and four Zs are going to have to suck it up if we want to field more than two Scum pilots in tournies.

I was initially hoping it was going to be like Aces, I already had three A-wings & three B-wings. When looking at the Rebel Aces preview, I learned I only needed to purchase one box to be able to field all of the named pilots. For Imperial Aces I needed two boxes for the named pilots though I already had three Interceptors.

I pretty much belched up the same thing everyone else said.

I actually wish that they didn't include the 2nd Z ship, and instead included 2 scum Z dials, and 1 rebel Z dial (and generic baseplate, i.e.gold/gray) plus cards.

Then do the same for the Y-wing. So that Most Wanted contained all the parts you need to play them both for both factions (and giving you an extra scum set to allow your already purchased ships to pull double duty).

You get an extra Y-wing dial.

Oh, sorry I really have not looked into the preview, waiting for the release before I make purchase choices. That is good then, we will only really have to worry about all these dang Zs we are going to have in our kits.

ID XT: I am certain if FFG did not include the 2nd ship, they would have a riot on their hands. There is a lot of complaining on this forum already, failing to provide a model ship would lead to a full blown riot, lol.

Besides, for new or newer players, the Scum faction allots them to build a faction from scratch and not have to play catch-up with imperial and rebel players.

The point of Most Wanted is to build up a third faction, fast.

So everything added to it is pointed to that. You get three scum ships. You get the cards and dials for an extra scum Y-wing, a scum HWK-290, and a scum firespray. The miniatures for these three you buy separately within their regular packs.

Totally  I guess
