Narrative Collection

By Jamin Rexx, in Star Wars: Armada

Wazzup FFG community.

Welcome to my first posted topic. You'll see a similar topic appear in the X-Wing and Imperial Assault forums as I endeavor to begin my collecting and gaming.

I will begin my Star Wars games in Edge of the Empire, then my character Jamin Rexx will begin his rise in Force and Destiny. It is the story of the RPGs that will determine when ships might meet for battle.

I could just buy miniatures and use the RPG rules, but this game sounds worthy of playing. But the factions would be Empire and Scum and Villainy.

Problem? Not really.

Most of the scum ships would be frigates and corvettes, with loads of fighters and bombers. So unless FFG created a S&V faction, I'd just use small Rebel ships with a possible repaint. The StarVipers and other small craft from the S&V would be a request I'd make to a Gosric of Shapeways. Rules shouldn't be too difficult to create, or I'd use "count as" for S&V craft similar to Rebels in function and ability.

The Empire, in the narrative, don't have anything bigger than a Star Destroyer. Only three actually which are rarely seen together. But I hope the Raider joins the Armada expansions.

So while I'm more for roleplaying, and avoiding the Rebellion side of things, I look forward to posting pictures of my fleets and videos of their battles.

Sounds cool, i'm interested in seeing how it goes.

I've already spoken to Mel of Mel_Miniatures on Shapeways, and he'll also be doin g Armada ships so i have no doubt options will not be a problem.

Realistically, there's a lot of crossover between Scum and Rebels anyway, at least at some levels.

Y-Wings, Z-95's, Corvettes and Nebulon-B's are all seen in use by pirates/mercs/smugglers in EU sources, so immediately thats not bad. Everything else you can deal with as it happens.

Good luck, and please post updates!

Will do!

I'll also point out that Nebulon B's and CR-90's are my favourites.

I'm hoping to pick up a starter set, get a few practice games in, then get serious as my EotE campaign kicks off.

I might do a video, my first YouTube video ever, of my first learning game with a review after.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'd have similar ambitions if I knew that I had a gaming group who would follow me there.

Whereabouts are you playing?
