Imperials because of the Firespray. Though I'll probably play scum more once they are released. I always pictured myself as a mercenary since I play rebels also (though not as much).
Edited by TheGreedyMerchantWhat do you play Rebels or Imperial or Scum?
I'm sure we've all had the same idea, I know I have... but it fails to be effective or fun.. lol.. especially when you TPK your group on a YT 1300 in a X wing mini game instead of the normal rules for the RPG.. that's why they make those rules..
I agree, but if you're doing a large battle of which the PCs are a small part, I still think there's merit in using two systems.
I really feel he's posting in the wrong forum.. spamming this one with a RPG concept.. thisnis the X wing miniatures forum.. not the Edge of the Empire forum..
Sorry if that makes me... Richard Head... (I know you might not have actually meant that but I'm just saying.. lol)
Edit
To your point of being hospitable.. he's more than welcome to come discuss his latest builds and request help.. we get a dozen of those a week, but he already said he hasn't bought anything...
Yes, and those requests are boring as all hell. I'm glad for something that's a bit more on the Edge, and involving of narrative, which I think X-Wing is lacking.
Besides, if they are just as 'Richard-like' in the RPG forums, then he'll be shunned there too.
I've chosen to "ignore" him. I actually answered the originaal question and the OP liked my response to his complaint.
C'mon, don't do that. Oneway's a good guy!
I've (probably) had my differences with him on occasion, but that doesn't mean that he deserves to be put on the ignore list.
Rebel for me, only collecting their side of things and have zero interest in getting Imp stuff.
Definitely a fan of the Imperials with an exception of course for the ugly workhouse, Y-wing.
Pulling off a win with Imperials feels more satisfying for me for some reason. I'm the guy who will lose a game he probably could have won, just because I was going for "style" points. That's just my take on it.
I think Scum and Villainy will be a blast. It will let me fly my favorite ship, the Y-wing and try even more wacky tactics. Hello, M3-A Heavy Cannon wings backed by Y-wing BTL-A4 dive bombers! And Z-95 Dead Man Switch swarms!

In all honesty, had this been an RPG thread, I'd have remarked differently.. and if I'm on the ignore list.. oh well.. I've been gaming for over 40 years.. I have a wealth of experience and ideas..
I'm not losing sleep over this.. lol
I did a star wars campaign 25 or so years ago and used alternate rules for space combat.. had I not changed the dice rolls.. luckily behind a screen, I'd have killed off my entire group.. and had myself a bunch of upset players.. the game system usually has the best combat systems for the game.. fair and balanced for the game. Using this system to fight space battles will just kill your players..
Mike I like our conversations and you have a great sense of humor.. it's always a pleasure going back and forth with you..
I think we've been OT in this thread enough.. I'll let others post their choice of sides ..
Go Empire.. demz de best hehe
Rebel for me, only collecting their side of things and have zero interest in getting Imp stuff.
I'm curious.. how do you get the upgrades in the imperial ships then.. there are many that are useful for the rebels, but aren't in their ships..
An honest question here, not ribbing you..

It's part of FFG's devious genius to make us buy all.
Given all the hype about autothrusters, it sounds like a lot of people will be driven to get the Starviper, even if they have little interest in Scum. Seeing as how there's very little in the Starviper that I really find compelling other than the autothrusters, I'll just have to learn to go without the autothrusters. I just ain't buying a ship just to get one card (or two, in this case).
Usually, those cards will eventually come out with some other ship anyway.
I'll probably get 2.. shouldn't need more than that.. a few of the 3As..
I think the S&V will be fun, I have enough firesprays for the list I want so... I'm good to go.. lol
Primarily Imperials, though I have a healthy collection of rebel ships and do use them sometimes.
I just loved the look of the defender, interceptor and firespray (in no particular order).
I'm looking forward to giving scum a try, and like a few people on here am enjoying that rebels and imperials feel different to fly, and am looking forward to the change scum will bring to the game.
I play Rebels and Empire (no Scum... yet... though I will probably get around to it).
It seems rather silly (for other than pure economic reasons) to only play ONE faction and hell if I am going to voluntarily do THAT! I like something about each faction and will fly either faction depending on my mood, etc...
I play Imprrial and I plan on Scum and Villany as my other faction and slow grow with them
I tend toward Rebels because I like the synergy. I may eventually move into Scum because they have synergy and an interesting narrative.
I myself tend to be a bit against the grain IRL.
Imperial mostly. love the tie fighter. Best ship.
These days, well scum of course (because they are not out) ![]()
No I don't have any scum ships......
or do I ![]()
Playing Imperial for now but once S&V comes out I'll be switching over
I am playing the empire. Guess that I have a decent collection. Maybe I'll play S&V as well, because I like the S&V Slave I and IG-2000.
D. All of the above.
For some reason, many of the guys I play against request my TIE Swarm that is nothing but TIEs, so I think I end up playing that more often than anything else, just because I guess I'm the only guy they know crazy enough to fly it.
But I'm at the mercy of my opponents. I'm just glad to play, so they can basically tell me what team to play.
I play imperial because rebel ships for the most part fly like tug boats.
my allegiance is to the imps but I play rebels as well and will play scum
I collect everything that strikes my fancy, but my play preference is trending toward Imperial pretty heavily. Since nobody I know collects X-wing other than me, though, I need to have enough of both sides to make for fun and interesting lists for those times when I can wrangle somebody into a game.
I'm sure I'll pick up some Scum eventually, but the Imperial Raider is next on my list. I've got a gift card ready and waiting.
