Recovering Damage Question

By starman, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Merry Christmas

When you rest you recover strainequal to endurance , excess endurance recovers Damage.

That is clear. I would like official clarifications for the following.

Clarification 1:-

If you have no strain to recover then yo can just use rest to recover damage up to endurance. You do not have to have any strain.

Clarification 2:-

Does the same apply to the recovering strain ability using a surge during an attack or is it restricted to strain only.

I have been playing as 1, recovering damage but for the surge only to recover strain.

#1 is correct.

Regarding #2 check "Recover" in the Rules Reference page 22: (basically it works like "Rest")

Recover

Some abilities allow figures to recover [Damage] or [strain].

When a figure recovers, remove the listed amount of damage or

strain tokens from the figure or its Hero sheet.

• Some cards use Recover as a keyword. For example

“B: Recover 1[Damage]” allows the figure to spend a [surge] (surge) during an

attack to recover 1[Damage] after resolving the attack. He can recover

this [Damage] even if the target of his attack does not suffer any [Damage].

• If a hero recovers more [strain] than he has suffered, he recovers

one [Damage] for each [strain] he cannot recover.

(I edited the copy paste a bit)

I have another question along this line. Can the recover/rest action be used twice per activation? I know that heroes and can attack twice per activation but cannot move their speed value twice per activation. I wasn't sure about rest. Thank you.

Huh?? Didn't know/see that they can't Move twice

The only actions that are restricted to once per round are Attacks and Special Actions. Unless you're a hero then you can Attack twice.
