I'm a backer for the kickstarter project in the topic. Haven't really been messing with it but tried it tonight and will certainly try it more during the holidays.

I dunno...maybe if you have no one to play with who lives near by. For me, the main appeal of a game like this is to have everyone sitting around the same table and playing together using the physical components.

Don't get me wrong. I like and prefer that too compared to any virtual version. But it could be used for when a member of a campaign would be out of town or for making battle reports etc.

I like my mini figs and the face to face pew-pew sounds and nerdy SW talk just as much as anyone

Hum...speaking of battle reports, wonder how long until FFG releases an online mission builder like they did for Descent. And with the skirmish variant, seems like such a tool would be even more useful.
