OK, they probably will, but only in a narrow arc directly to the side of the ship. Anything above or below is covered, as well as in front. The same cannot be said for the Y-Wing or HWK, and I wouldn't be surprised if both YTs had a hard time hitting anything lined up perfectly on a plane with them.

True, but I still don't think these relatively tiny blind spots are a very big deal. The rear one, certainly, as it frees ships up to just sit behind you and fire, like against a CR90, or most huge ships, but sitting directly to the side of you is hardly viable - you only need rotate a few degrees to hit them, plus they're a sitting duck for other fighters.
