Clone Wars expansion?

By sdh007, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Well, still waiting for my copy of this but already played the game a few times so far.

I really love the game and iI'm hoping some expansions will follow. Personally I'm more a fan of the Clone Wars period. Jedi versus Separitists....Obi-Wan versus General Grievous....awesome!

What kind of expansions or time periods would you like to see appear in the future?

I'd love to see some Prequels/Clone Wars stuff released for the game eventually.

Sadly I'm sure it's a lower priority to stuff based on the OT. But there's plenty of great suff in that era.

Hope we see some stuff from Rebels as well. Garazeb Orrelios aka "Zeb" would be an awesome addition.

Seeing as how x wing mini has been out for a little while and still hasn't had any expansions into the clone wars I'm inclined to agree it's a low priority. They'll probably make a bunch of mini-expansions then make another campaign at some point. Still, it would be awesome if they did add in the clone war Era stuff at a later date and who knows what will happen when the new trilogy starts coming out.

The setting is just after the events of A New Hope so I wouldn't see any flashback content you would be looking at the events from ANH to RoTJ

Maybe you are right but we still may have some (new) hope right? ;) I understand why they the setting is as it is; Rebel versus Imperial. It's nostalgy for "older" players and is perfect with the new Disney Star Wars coming out. I'm not saying that's bad, in fact I love playing the game and also the setting.

Only fact is, in my opinion, you have lots of content in the clone wars that are perfect for the concenpt of this game. Various smaller mission to destabilize the war going on. Small victories that pay off in the long run.

Also it would be cool to kinda play the campaign (wether Clone or Imperial era) as the "bad guys".

But it would be nice to have some flashback scenarios from ANH to Rotj. i played the Wotc Rebel Storm missions that reproduced the key scenes in the 3 original movies. I would like to try those missions with the IA mechanics.

Id like to see an expac that had hoth/bespin tiles and introduced some new Heros as well as the Fett man, Dengar, Bossk, Lando, for Skirmish. Yoda doesn't really make sense but hell he should be there too. Jedi luke would be cool then a Return of the Jedi box that was maybe endor/jabbas tileset with a rancor for the rebels/Bounty Hunters and some more heros and characters for skirmish.

So one thing that I haven't seen mentioned a lot in threads is the "Time Period" mechanic on the side quests. The time period for this campaign is 3, and there are cards that specify time periods before that. Since TP3 seems to be exactly after the Battle of Yavin, TPs 1 and 2 have to be before. It's just a question of how far before.

Right now we have 1 2-4 SM, 2x 3-4 SMs and a 2-7 SM.

I hope there will be imperial expansion. Is the dark side stronger? No it's just much cooler.

FFG is on record as saying don't expect prequel stuff from them for their Star Wars games.

Considering they call it "Imperial Assault", and there was no empire until the last few minutes of Episode III, I see prequel stuff coming out unlikely.

And with the new movies coming out, Disney will absolutely be pressuring FFG to get new games out that relate to the new movies.

If this is true, they won't be getting any money from me for their SW games. I've been waiting to see if there would be some announced prequel expansions, so still holding out hope. Until then, I'm not buying anything.

CEO himself said it in an interview with TC at Worlds. Sequel stuff is likely.

Very disappointing. Given there's a lot of great characters, ships, and settings from the PT.

And there's a lot of great characters, ships, and settings in the Galactic civil war era and it's the more popular.

Why not do both eras? I don't get it.

Who knows. Maybe their license doesn't let them.

Thank god!

In any event, I'm not buying into a game that ignores half the story and the vast majority of powerful characters.

Your loss really.

Thank god!

You know... just because they make it doesn't mean you have to buy it. But offering no choice at all? Meh.

Please, please, no prequel stuff.

Let's just pretend none of that nonsense happened, shall we?

I see it this way: there are 7 expansions coming. All 7 are from the original trilogy.

They all look great and I'm getting all of them; the more the better!

Suppose FFG also makes prequel expansions, no way we would get 14 at the same time, so instead of 7 from the OT we would get 3 or 4 from the OT and 3 or 4 from the prequels.

For me that would mean bad news as I'd like to have as much OT sets/characters as possible.

There's just as much "nonsense" in the OT. Just we were children when we saw it. ;)

That's about how I feel. I'm shocked that there is this much desire for prequel themed expansions. I thought everyone hated on the prequels/special editions.
