I'm thinking of using some Z95's in a few games, maybe 2 or 4 with a YT-2400.
I was wondering what experiences you've have had with them, success or failure, and if you have any tips, or words of warning you'd like to share.

Airen is pretty good. Just remember to keep him pointed at a goon.
Otherwise only bandits for me. They do really well as closer to mid and inside starters to make a dangerous lane in the middle to cross in case someone wants to attack your big target. Ex. Wedge or dash.
Cheap and cheerful, 12 point banditos
Filler...nothing more.
I have never used the uniques...though I have heard cracken is good.
Have a hard time paying extra for a ship meant to die...
Cracken's loads of fun, but the PS skew makes his EPT slot a mandatory VI if anything
He's a lot of fun with advanced sensors E'athn and can barrel-roll him into prime position during combat, or have him stack evade/focus/tl with PTL
Problem is he tends to draw fire like howlrunner and he doesn't have dodge. Biggs is a good body guard, and anything with 3 dice + focus + TL is going to hurt.
Otherwise, yeah the generics are cheap and dependable.
I like the '95 as a swarmer, but I don't play it often.
Like most everything, I fly them poorly.
For the most part, I don't. If I have 12 points free and don't want upgrades, I'll probably use one as a cheap blocker, but that's it really.
Mine fly in a drawer.
I swarm TIEs.
My Stepfather flies Z-95s
My swarm now includes Captain Kagi.
4x Tala Squadron
+ Munitions Failsafe
+ Assault Missiles
Lieutenant Blount
+ Assault Missiles
+ Swarm Tactics
Blount or Blount plus swarm.

Blount would have been the bees knees if he was imperial
dat ruthlessness...
Use them as:
Blockers
Auxiliary Attackers
Filler
I like Bandits and Talas.

Agreed. For how potent his ability is, he kinda dropped off the map. He's useful if you know:
-You're going against a Stealth Device
-You're going against a swarm/formation
-You absolutely need to ion (missile) someone.
Z95 + Cluster Missiles + Munitions Failsafe
usually supported by Etahn to get the crit
Does anyone ever put missiles on theirs? I think it's pretty much futile
I fly my two Bandits as a kind of distraction/blocker for my YT-2400 and Keyan list. I also use them in the same way with my Dutch, 2 Blue Squadron B's, and single Z. I typically consider them fodder, but in a wink they can get that three-dice attack that may be critical if you play them smart.
I have yet to put any missiles on them, but with missiles and munitions failsafe I can see they may be usable as ordnance delivery.
Lately my builds have all been about Zs as the main part of my fleet. ![]()
