Yet another noob question but prompted by frustration from listening to podcasts. I have worked out some of the terms with the search function and common sense but I am inundated with phrases like superdash, fat Han/Chewie/etc, doomshuttle, and the like.
Is there anywhere (a one-stop shop) that explains all these in words of one syllable, please?
I'm afraid not, although we typically tend to band together on topics like these when people express frustration with them.
Fat: When referring to Solo or 'Bacca, this refers to a specific interaction: C3P0 + (Other defensive crew) + MF Title + (Passive EPT [elite pilot talent, like Predator, Veterans Instinct, et c]). When used on other ships, it variously means that you've built it very defensively, or built it very expensively.
Doomshuttle - Lambda Shuttle with Darth Vader Crew on board. Shoot, unleash the power of the Dark Side, Profit.
Anything cow-related or whale-related is referring to the Shuttle. This is entirely SableGryphon's fault, and we love it.

I'm sorry for the slang confusion on the podcast. Maybe we can make a thread and have MajorJuggler link to it in the cool links thread that's pinned up at the top. Time to get cracken on this.

I second that motion.
There are a few slang phrases that get passed around which originated from the X-wing book series (fittingly enough):
Eyeballs: TIE Starfighter
Squints: TIE Interceptor
Brights: TIE Advanced
Trips: TIE Defender
Thing is i know hardly anyone who uses the xwing book slang in games.
Squints possibly but otherwise they just feel a bit 'forced'
Its as easy to say tie int as it is squint.
I know its the EU slang but just a casual scan around here shows that not that many people use those terms.
In comparison i think knowing what
'fat han' was or what WAAC meant or FLGS make a lot more sense
(for the uninitiated thats a heavily loaded titled milenium falcon with c3p0, considered a tough cookie, 'win at all costs' and 'friendly local gaming store' in that order)
Many thanks, guys. I am loving the podcasts. There is some sick shizzle out there and I love the crazy combos people are finding. I have found that I pause the casts a lot to search terms on the forum.
The other frustrating thing is trying to find a distributor in Blighty that has any of the good stuff. I can't find a Falcon or Firespray except for silly money. Phantoms and Adv Ties seem to be equally hard to find. I can only assume that the Scum and Villainy faction isn't out - I would love some Starvipers and IG2000s - but not seen... That is for another thread.
