The trouble with VI
I've been unexpectedly very busy this Christmas so I haven't had time to read the whole topic thoroughly nor give it the reactions it deserves but I'm very happy that it has met with such a large response. I'll try to respond in the coming week but I'm on a family getaway so that might prove difficult between all the boardgames we'll play (and X-Wing is coming along by special request).
Well perhaps it's somewhere else or I read more into something than was actually said.
Alex did talk about the Phantom, but said that if it proved to be an issue they'd look at it.
That lead some people here to post saying... 'FFG admits the Phantom is broken and they'll fix it'. It's a lot like in MMO's when a dev says they're looking into a feature or system and people somehow morph "we're looking to see if System X is feasible" into a hard promise, and get quite upset when it doesn't show up in the next patch.
I don't think there is any issues with the phantom
Especially with all the turrets
