think we will see new aces packs in the future?

By Grave13, in X-Wing

I would like to see a mission pack for the Battle of Yavin. They also should include One Rebel Ship and One Imperial Ship from Wave 1.

I've been saying the same for months - flesh out the Red and Gold squadron named pilots and add a few new names to the Black Squadron pilot roster

A new Rebel Aces Pack with Rogue Squadron generics piloting X-Wings ...

Maybe a X-Wing PS 5+ only card ... whatever this will be ... maybe to add Expert Handling for free

Any rebel ship left that need a boost?

I've said for ages, a battle pack would be welcome. Some terrain pieces, accompanying rules and some scenarios. It would mix up the standard 6 Asteroid Death Match a little and add a little narrative to our games/campaign systems. The Yavin set could include some Laser Turrets.

Other sets could include ground based targets (Ion Cannon or AT-ATs) in which bombing runs could be made. Providing a new gaming element and use for the bombers. It'd be top of awesome if you had to field of force of bombers with escort whilst your opponent presented a defensive force. For kicks, the ground based targets could fire back.

We already have a lot of ships .. this way we can use them in different ways.

I love the aces packs, but I'm not a fan of the repaints. I think the idea of the vs. packs is a much better one, but it becomes trickier with the third faction. I foresee a Scum aces out sometime in the summer, and then a change if format.

I'm not convinced Tie Fighters need more pilot cards... 3 squadron choices and around half a dozen named is enough for them. Y-wings and HWKs got lots of love for scum. X-wings got some love with rebel trans, plenty of nasty pilots in there - tarn gets a lot of use, Wes, Biggs, Wedgie and Luke all get use. Defenders.... No sorry they are actually good as they are, maybe a little overcosted compared to the star viper but they are quite solid. Bombers need the love though.

It occurs to me that a decrease in TORPEDO prices by some mechanic or otherwise an ordnance upgrade would boost the X, Y , B and Bomber, leaving the other ships alone. A special rule distinction changing how torpedos work compared to missiles might help, we've heard a lot of talk about ignoring shields? Increasing range? Double damage against huge?(pick me, pick me!)

I'm still not getting this whole x-wings need love/fixing thing. They have the most named pilots, relatively cheap, strong dial, one of three craft that can equip astromechs.

The only fixing they need is to make those little laser thingies less fragile. How about more REBEL named Y-Wing pilots...with EPT slots!

Outside of that, I'm onboard for more aces packs. I'm even onboard for Rogue - Wraith squadron title cards, because I think they're cool and not because they need fixing.

Yeah, Y-wing and bomber EPTs would be very nice. Y-wing and bomber named would be good too. More Rebel Z-95 named would balance out the lot.

My money is on a Bomber Aces pack. Y-wing + TIE Bomber. It'll fit between all three factions. New bombs, maybe some way to boost ordnance and make it more useful.

I think this is a distinct possibility.

The problem with adversary packs that contains 1 rebel and 1 imperial ship is just how much they would piss off all the people that only collect one side or the other. That would be a bad marketing decision for FFG.

I'll cast my vote for some rebel y-wing love. give us some pilots with EPT

I'd like FFG to do a card only ordnance pack, they could include reprints of all the ordinance, fixed.

then the bomber would not need a fix.

include 2 copies of each ordinance with a MK II after the name. people could still run the old missles but the new ones would fix the issues with ordnance. maybe a card pack is 10 bucks, lot of peopple would buy 2, I certainly would.

Not a bad idea. The addition of "Mk II" should bypass the main problem of printing cards with different text or point values. They wouldn't need to worry about the fix overpowering the recent ordnance that is priced so much better. Yeah, I could seriously get behind that idea.

I love to see it, we need to get new upgrades for the old ships, and this is a good way to get it, so yesxI want to see more Aces, greettings

Small ships without more than 2 Unique pilots are due for "Aces" of some kind first, IMO.

Rebel:

Y-Wing

E-Wing

Z-95

HWK

Imperial:

Bomber

Defender

Phantom

>I would love to see More Names Bomber Pilots.

>An Un-Named Pilot with an “Elite Pilot” slot.

>A Modification card, "Weapons Upgrade": When attacking with your primary weapon, roll one additional dice. (For any ship that only rolls 2 attack dice.)

>A Modification card, "Improved Sensors": Your vessel can target lock any vessel on the board, and or can maintain multiple target locks.

>A Upgrade Card that would Change a Torpedo or Missile Upgrade to a Bomb upgrade allowing a “Bomber” to have more than one Bomb.

>A Upgrade Card that would Change a Torpedo or Missile Upgrade slot to a Crew upgrade slot.

>A Upgrade Card that would Change a Torpedo or Missile Upgrade to a Systems upgrade slot.

*giggles* I know it would be ridiculous, but I would love to see named wraith squadron members with illicit upgrade slots.

I really want to see an aces pack with X-wings. They could use a little love, plus I would love a PS 6 Rogue Squadron X-wing with an EPT option.

Would also be kinda cool to get a Rebel/Imperial combo aces pack with one ship from each. I was rooting for an X-wing/TIE Advanced aces package, bit I guess we already got our Advanced boost.

The X-Wing got used as an "Epic addition" just like it appears the Advance will. Put the two together in a single pack with the upgrades/pilots from those epic expansions and may quiet some of the complaints about "needing" to buy the epic to get those cards. Put a little more into in and then you've got a reason for everyone to get it while also upsetting those who already bought the epics but now would need this pack for the new stuff.

Given that FFG has added a TIE/x1 title, maybe we'll be seeing a TIE/x2, TIE/x3, or TIE/ad titles in a potential Aces or Prototypes pack. That might be a bit much for the Advanced, but you never know.

I'd also love to see a straight Imperial Aces II pack based around the Defender. A modification called "fire-linked cannons" that allowed you to fire both your primary attack and your Cannon upgrade in a single attack would be great fun, and has precedent in the Y-wing upgrade for turrets. A new cannon and/or missile upgrade, or potentially a title, could be TIE/Ad x7, which would allow for a free Boost action when some other condition is fulfilled (or just add Boost to the action bar). A potential unique title could be Red Star 1, which would add another Shield and the Boost action.

Thats actually something i wish tournaments did, or at a minimum, normal games were based around, is scenario play. Right now, many units maybe don't see as much play as others because there is no tactical value in taking them. When the game is a death match all the time, he who has the best guns/ability to use them is probably going to win (or he who can bring the most of them) but in scenario play, things like bombs and ordnance, as well as different craft that create a combined squadron of speed, mobility, agility, firepower, and hit boxes would be better equipped for scenario play, and some of you would get a chance to dust off your A and Y wings. :)

Also whoever mentioned the idea of a rival aces pack containing a ship from opposite factions...that is an awsome Idea and im sure would sell really well.

Just think you could buy a pack at your game store and if you had your X-Wing game movement template and range template and dice with you you could play a game on the spot with a friend... throw some mission scenarios in it as well......man that would be so great!

Yeah, i am SO TOTALLY on board for this. Imagine a Vader/Luke, Soontir/Wedge, or just about any other classic rivalry you can think of duking it out in a box set that is a one on one fight in a box that you could pick up for 30.00, get some different asteroids, or even debris fields, and maybe have a few special rules for the dogfight, man that would be awesome!

I have a need for more unique Tie Fighter pilots.

:P

With abilities revolving about stress/ion tokens like:

"If you have assigned at least one stress token, add 1 to your attack value"

"Once per round if you would receive a stress token, you may reassign it to a other ship in range 1."

"When attacking an ionized ship, add 1 to your attack value."
