I have been reading the novel Tarkin and it describes the Corvette that Tarkin is in charge of. Here is an excerpt:

At just under 150 Meters in length, the corvette fit neatly between the old Judical cruisers and Corellian Engineering's new-generation frigates. Heavily armed with turbolasers, ion cannons, and proton torpedo tubes... the triangular-shaped ship was unique in having cloaking technology.

I don't see anything here that suggests it couldn't be the raider and at 150 meters and a triangular shape it seems to fit the bill.

Its good enough for me except I doubt it has a cloaking device (in game at least) I would love a Carrion Spike title to be honest

If Disney/LFL come out and say that it is then much of my fears about their handling of the universe will be quelled and I will be much reassured.

The Carrion Spike would make a great title that would make this excellent. Maybe if it did add a cloaking ability but with the width of a template like large ships barrel roll. Maybe get rid of huge ships collision rules

I can see that. The Carrion Spike could easily be a modified Raider (assuming its not a pure custom job...this IS Tarkin). There's no chance we'll be getting a cloak of course, but it's a solid speculation!

I enjoyed that book. I just finished it over the weekend. I could see the cloak action of the Carrion Spike adding evades or something.

Dont you think the Raider look like a stealth ship?

Cloaking and decloaking would be different to the Phantoms, of course.

Maybe just a defence buff while consuming a large amount of energy ...

The Spike was a one-off ship, the only one of its class.

Tarkin designed it, but someone else designed the Raider.

Unless ffg changes the background of the Raider, it's not the same class.

The Spike also clearly fired while cloaked. It fired a lot while cloaked. It's almost its defining feature. Making the Spike without a cloaking device that allows it to shoot while cloaked would be like making x-wings without torpedo launchers.
