Advice for dial proxy.

By WWHSD, in X-Wing

I've got a couple of squads that I'd like to try out before deciding to buy additional copies of ships. Proxying cards and models is no big deal but what's the besy way to handle proxying dials?

A friend of mine had a metal card. He drew out the moves the ship can do on a piece of paper. Stuck it to the metal card and used a magnet to show which move he had selected.

Or you could just write down the chosen move for the ship on a piece of paper and flip it over when you move it.

Or use a dial that has similar moves, though this last option depends on the dials you have.

There's a number of movement charts on the net you can get. Most ships actually come with one. Just come up with a way to mark which maneuver you're going to take on the sheet.

I'd use the 'possible moves' chart you get with an expansion if you need 'extra' ships or print some out if you dont own that ship at all. Put them behind a small 'screen' (an upturned DVD case should do.

Put a marker piece like a monopoly house on the chosen manouvre.

Reveal it by removing the screen

It requires an honest opponent but if you're just testing stuff with mates, why cheat?
