Wow, epic long podcast this time! I think that's a record. I blame FFG for releasing the Imperial Epic news mere hours after we recorded and making Ed add another section just for it. :P

I am curious to see what you guys all said about the Imperial Raider and TIE Advanced fixes, since I wasn't able to make it for that part.

We drooled...a lot! I am sorry you couldn't make that one, but it'll give you some time to digest the new Vader numbers!

Woot, we only made it in 5 and a half minutes before I managed a typo-type error on the show! Ha. Isard provides a free evade, not a free focus.

Thankfully I think our listeners are smarter than us and will be able to figure it out. :D

As long as your Math is correct we will forgive these little things. ;)

His math is good, and backed up by tournament results. I'm a huge fan of his numbers...lol

Great cast guys! Glad to hear you were able to catch the recent news drop before airing!

Got thinking about the 180 degree rotating A-wings guns you guys were talking about:

Since reprinting base tokens is most likely out of the question and since marking and rotating the base 180 degrees, measuring then taking your shot, and then rotating the ship back to again face the direction it was going, is quite fiddly and likely prone to re-positioning errors, what if it worked like this:

If the Awing wanted to shoot behind, it can only shoot in the band the size of the base directly behind it. (Ie- only straight out the back in an rectangular arc the size of base, instead of the ~90 degree arc).

This rids of the need for new base tokens and simplifies the fiddly-ness, as no re-positioning of the base is needed. So, after movement you just measure out the rear by placing your range ruler along the base's edge and measuring straight back.

This idea could also work for the Lambda.

And surely, the ~90 degree rear arc has an associated point cost increase with it. This change is limiting that arc but shouldn't affect the game so much to warrant much of a cost increase, even if at all, while still thematically representing what the Awing guns can do. (On the Lambda, since that rectangular rear arc is effectively doubled, maybe a point increase would be warranted).

Could be something interesting for your house rules MJ. Thoughts?

I have to say I really liked Sean idea to simply lift the card off of the base and turn it. You opponent could hold the bas down to ensure it doesn't move.

I think your idea works for ease, but would really limit the A-Wing's rear firing.

But. that being said, I like anything that could improve this ship.

Because it takes a while between each podcast and then between each of the other podcasts(i do enjoy SnV and The Kessel Run also) it's great that NOVAs' eps go for so long. Its the equivalent to 3 trips to work on public transport for me, LOVE it. Makes my day that much better..

Good podcast, guys.

For my House Rules I try to stay as close to the original mechanics as possible.

But that would be a really fun house rule. The problem is in placing the value of a rear arc. So far the only other ship with one is the Firespray, and none of the Imperial pilots are compelling. With wave 6 Scum and more specifically the PS5 Mandalorian which is more cost effective, we should get a better idea on what it is really worth. But I am very confident that such a modification / title for the A-wing should cost 1 point.

Very nice and entertaining guys :)

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

I know that we tend to run longer then most other shows but overall the response has been overwhelmingly in favor of the long format show.

We like it because we all love to gab about X-Wing anyway, so might as well record it all!

Thanks again everyone!

Good show!
