Ruthlessness + Accuracy Corrector

By Slugrage, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Would Ruthlessness trigger from the two hits given by Accuracy Corrector?

i.e.: If I were to whiff the roll for an attack, and simply take the two [bOOM] results from the AC, does Ruthlessness trigger from that? Or is AC not technically considered a "hit" result?

Ruthlessness would only trigger if at least one of the AC [bOOM] results was still uncancelled, thus making the attack "hit".

Accuracy Corrector does nothing to affect Ruthlessness. Ruthlessness triggers on a hit, which is determined by having uncanceled hit/crit results after comparison and canceling. Accuracy Corrector happens before comparison. Doesn't matter where the hits/crits come from, determining "hit" works the same.

That's what I thought. I wasn't sure if it was some weird, nebulous "not a hit" result or something.

Because Vader with Ruthlessness and AC may be a new favourite set up for me.

Thanks!

Ruthlessness would fit with Vader quite nicely, game wise and thematically. It'd be a case of "I have you, and you, now..."

If you can spare the point I think ATC is actually far more likely to trigger ruthlessness than AC, If my math is correct (and correct me if im wrong) but an unmodified 2 die attack with ATC will net a minimum of 2 hit/crit 75% of the time, with an overall chance of 3 hit/crit 25% of the time. the chance of 3 hits makes ruthlessness far more likely to trigger I would imagine.

With a focus it gets better, of course there are other factors like unspent target locks etc but these are relatively minor when specifically discussing Vader.
