Did fire get better with the new bannings?

Drifter

Needs to see play. Putting aside the fact that Akuma is Fire's best contender (and can thus use A New Low instead), Drifter leads to some easy Ira-Spinta reversals (and as has been made apparent, From the Mouse helps get rid of Spinta's cost), not to mention the myriad of other reversals you could create.

It is seriously one of the most ridiculous attack line ups you can be running right now. Turn 2 all over the place.

Driven by Fear alone means that aggro has a place in our game. I think the only reason we haven't seen it in use is because people don't own a playset yet. In addition to the attacks you listed, DbF is perhaps one of Zi Mei's greatest assets. Hit em hard, esp. using Pommel Smash, clear card pool, LOL in their face with Fury of the Ancients.

Driven by Fear is most certainly a powerful option, yes.

Even more powerful is Communing with the Ancients (which should you your other 3 diff foundation play set alongside Bitter Rivals).

Float Like a Butterfly back then was silly, now it has aggro symbols.

Communing with Ancients...yet another reason I love Taki =D

Aggro does exist. I think Astaroth could do some wonders off Fire, using what throws it has with his brutal E and Driven by Fear to ensure you have less foundations than your opponent.

Cobra Blow's action side and Yoga Adept ARE good cards Waffle...

:(

Not the way I play it.

Fixed

Yang abuses Cobra Blow proabably second-best to how Hilde abuses it. If you can safely tap him with his own Enhance and then maybe throw in some KFTs, you got yourself some damage.

Easier to do that if you don't mind running Nefarious Deeds. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Been running Fire Yang and Death/Fire Yang with Cobra Blow for *a while* now, and he's pretty darn sexy. Try him with the ML + KB combo and it becomes even more ridonkulous.

Poor Nefarious Deeds...

it's one of the easiest ways to ready your character.

Tap him for speed, that's a 9H13 move right there? That's pretty solid... add a couple Leona speed pumps, or KFT, or something, and that could get pretty big. I liek...

Yup. 9h12 actually, but yea...solid indeed! I usually run Senkyutai in there as well since it's easy to pass as a 1st attack. AND, it's really a very nice follow up attack that combos well with Cobra Blow to finish off opponents.

Marco's recommendation of playing Drifter is right on, btw! Been running that card in Yang since its inception as it allows Senkyutai (or ML or KB) to be played as a Reversal. So, you COULD (and i *have*) play the ML + KB combo on your turn, and then finish off your opponent on their turn with Senkyutai + Cobra Blow. It's actually fairly easy to do that, especially with Chester's and Owlface going the way of the Dodo in July.

The other day I was running my Death/Fire deck vs. Magnus's evil Ibuki deck, and the results of the match left such a bad taste in my mouth and it was all due to those two infernal cards. It's so bad that 3 No Memories played on turn 2 wasn't enough to overcome all the stupid chester's hitting me and owlfaces eating my Destinys.

And I seriously had what I needed to sit on my ass for the whole game until I had my Menuettes to kill with (wtb 1 more btw). Go go lack of fun times due to chester and Olcadan's and makai.

That rant was semi-inspired by the mentioning of the cards. Sowy. =p.

i think that if anyone builds a fire james hata2 deck for worlds, they might just do realy well. he is probbably one of the few six handers without built in draw who can turn 2 consistantly. i have been proxying him and turn 2ing pretty much every 20 health character i meet (including chunners).
