We would love to play the campaign but are lost.
No matter HOW many times we read the description of what we are supposed to do next we are flabbergasted.
There's this deck, and then find these cards, and then you have to flip to the front of the book to hope that you can find a PICTURE of the cards they are talking about, but not ALL of them
are
pictured...
It's daunting and I am sure we are screwing it up.
Do you guys have any advice? Are there any guides to making it easier? We'd really like to move forward.
Thank you in advance for the advice.
Done with "Assault"; but Intimidated by Campaign Setup.
All the different types of cards do have examples in the L2P book. Try separating them all out first. That's what I did yesterday after getting my copy.
Last night I just sat down by myself and read all of the cards in the box. Next, I read through the campaign section of the Learn2Play guide about 3 times, referencing all of the different decks as they were mentioned. I'm sure a video would help and their are ubdoubtedly some in the works by now. For me, though, it just takes some time and some perserverence to figure it out. My biggest advice is to figure it out before your group meets. Once everyone is gathered and ready to play, the pressure is on and it's easy to get flustered and skip around the rules. Just take it slow by yourself and you should be able to figure it out.

I totally sympathize with you, I had a similar experience when I was setting up as the Imperial player in the start up campaign mission. I had even been "clever" enough to separate out the stuff only used in campaigns before we started, and had leafed through the sections but everything collapsed when we started to set up. Luckily one of the other players had done the mission before and helped out. The difficult thing from thereon was to prevent him to spoil the surprises in the mission.
I have done a good job trying to organize everything in my game box, and hopefully this will be a help in the future which will contain MANY MANY missions for sure.
I've constructed this for most of the map tiles and all the small figs:
In the left row I've sorted the Command Cards as follows:
- In front I have the "zero cost" cards in 2 sets for easy Skirmish setup. In the back I have the priced Command Cards sorted with the named/restricted cards first and then the remaining cards sorted alphabetically.
Middle row:
- Currently just the AT-ST token and the doors
Right Row:
- Condition Cards
- Supply Cards
- Hero Class Cards
Also I watched part 1 of Team Covenant 's play through and it helped me prepare for 1st game today.
Thank you all for the advice.
I will have to sit down outside of play and give it another go. Hopefully I can grok the intended workflow.
From what I gather is this.
The Hero Cards are the Rebel Deployment and you only need the normal cards for heroes like Chewie etc, each hero as their side deck to keep alongside them so as they gain experience they can acquire a new card to improve their abilities.
Imperial Players only need to source the Deployment card stated in the campaign book since you know what and where your placing the troops.
The crate cards are left on the side in easy reach during the mission because the Rebels can interact with crates to get cards.
The status effect cards are there as a reminder that you have the effect, so you can leave them in box and pass them to the rebel player as and when the effect takes place.
The Reward cards are for the end of the mission so they can stay in the box until said time.
The Side Mission deck confused me when reading through I know the game runs STORY - SIDE - STORY so I will need to re read this bit again.
The Imperial player chooses one of the 3 decks and he keeps that for the entire campaign and as he gains influence he can buy new commands for his troops.
Other than that I have the general jist of how it runs
