There are limits. I have sort of gotten used to the whole ugly thing in many cases but the Y-TIE is just wrong on so many levels both technically and aesthetically

I think the assumption is that the buildrs scavenge battlefields etc and put together what they can which can result in decent looking things on occasion but mostly not.It all depends on how it is put together

Yes, this is a "thing". Some of the less...imaginative EU authors from back in the day established some fringe groups and individuals canabalizing old scrap pieces of fighters to make flyable mongrelizations. These became known collectively and uglies. For some reason the concept has become quite popular among some of the fan base, probably pointing to some deep seated, mass sadomasochistic tendency in the psychology of fandom.

To be fair, some of the uglies that I have seen done by people have not really looked all that bad, the "Y-TIE" is probably the worst, but the concept....

That said, there's plenty of better choices in the EU for Scum & Villainy.

I'll always have a soft spot for the uglies and would buy them, I can see why some don't like them but they are part of star wars and we shouldn't reject them out of hand.

I used to really hate the whole idea of uglies, but that have started to grow on me a bit. I think in part because of a few really good conversions people on here have done.

The top two look especially cool. I'd love to have some Uglies on the board. Their "Ugliness" is part of their charm.
