Ahem,
It's seems strange to me that those two freighters would only be choices for the Rebels...I think the scum faction would have thier own versions they they could fly.
What do you think?

If there's pilots from the eu they can use, I could see it happening
Absolutely not. For game balance if nothing else.
But even thematically....S&V are more about the "dark side" of the underworld. Black Sun, Bounty Hunters and so on. While the 1300 and 2400 pilots are "criminals" they are the more heroic, "scoundrel with a heart of gold" (bleh) types.
Another point is that FFG will want to keep SOME sense of faction identity, and it'll be pushing it if they start throwing everything in there.
And lastly (and this is purely a personal thing)....please no more super turret ships!
Trandoshan slaver, Trex in a repaint YT1300 like the Krayt Fang.
But still I'd rather they not.
S&V, for balancing, will likely get something with a turret. I would hazard a guess at(like bubblepopmei stated) a repaint or at the very least conversion cards in a three pack of repaints, like they are doing with Most Wanted.
Absolutely! The only reason that the rebels fly these at all is because there's some scum who were moralistic enough to join the rebellion.
What's more, we have seen that we can have the same character with different pilot cards for different factions. It's certainly possible that we'd get to see Han Solo as a scum pilot, back as we were first introduced to him.
We still have plenty of cool ships that S&V can use why reuse even more models than we already are.
I want more flavours of FFG's plastic crack, not the same old thing different day.

I very much doubt that printing a few new pilot cards would interfere with the designers and printers manufacturing new stuff...
Already working on friendly play S&V cards for the 1300 and 2400. My GR75 is sitting in the drydock being customized as a GR45 with a user supplied cockpit and hidden weapons so I will have the epic angkle covered. S&V will be my second faction of that there is no doubt, such ooey gooey badness in every morsel.
True to form S&V should-could-would use ANYTHING they can get their scummy hands on.

In what world do you think your ole pal Boss ain't gonna have a hotshot blaster on The Falcon?
Crazy peoples world... as a zample.
I mean we have watched The Empire Strikes Back... at least 100+ times right.

Hmm, Han, Lando, and Chewie are all characters in the Scum & Villainy faction in the Star Wars LCG.
Sounds totally plausible.

Not to mention Dash and Leebo.
No.
From a production viewpoint, it's far easier for FFG to re-purpose existing models, and slap a new paint job on them, than to design entirely new ships. I could see them doing it, to give a realistic time for the product to hit the shelves. Possibly that could account for their rather scarce nature for the past several months too.
That said, I wouldn't mind the ST:Rebels Ghost as a S&V ship, but Hera and crew are not exactly the S&V type. Han was a smuggler for Jabba before getting suckered into helping Ye Olde Farmboy and Helpless Old Man so I think it's entirely plausible that the 1300 and 2400 end up as S&V turret ships.
No.
I do recall someone arrogantly proclaiming what FFG would never do....

Smugglers and Spies, not Scum and Villany.
That said I wouldn't mind a dark side Lando with a pre Sabacc game Falcon. Neither game has done anything with a dark Lando which makes me sad.
Yes, I do think that S&V should get both of these ships.
If we get a scum YT-1300, I will paint either a really faded Stellar Envoy or a red-ish Wayward Son.
Do I think it could happen? Sure. I'll even go so far as to say that if it did happen, they'd do a good job at making the resulting ships feel different.
Do I want it to happen? No. The Falcon is so entwined with the mythology of the Rebellion, that seeing it on the other side just feels wrong. Also: there are quite a few Rebel Scum ships that Villainous Scum would also have claim to. So I don't want to open that can of worms wider than it has to.
Having said all that: a Scum YT 1300 that used the Outer Rim Smuggler as it's base stats, and didn't have Han, Chewy, or Lando as pilots would be the place to start.

I was starting to think no one was going to mention this. Mechanically, I think some very interesting things could be done by keeping the ORS stats and finding other ways to diversify them. That would satisfy the need to keep the playstyles of the factions distinct. Give them really distinct paint jobs and that should cover the need for the visuals to be different.
I very much think it could be done, and done well. Will it? Who knows. If it does happen though, it should probably not be for quite a while. There needs to be some time for the factions to accumulate a greater diversity of ships before S&V are given another 2 ships from someone else's stable.
YUP...

No, for game balance reasons, as the Scum would gain two of the most powerful ships from the Rebels but the Rebels will not gain anything from the Scum.
I could see FFG releasing a Scum YT-2000 though. Different ship but also with a turret.

I think it'll happen. Maybe Wave 7 or Wave 8. Should be interesting.
Edited by gundamvIt would make sense, but I'd rather see a different YT go the scum faction. They've already got 4 reused ships. Lets see something new.

Yes, because everyone always complains about fat outer rim smugglers. Those 10 hit points backed up by a massive 2 attack dice are just brutal.
Sorry, I posted this on the wrong thread.
Oops.
