Are there any rules anywhere that govern the use of Uglies or should I just get a Headhunter or something similar and "reskin" it to look the way I want it to look. My character will have a ship with the cockpit of an Eta-2 Actis Class starfighter that has had it's wings removed and replaced by the large engines of a Belbullab-22 Starfighter. Thoughts?
Ugly
I'm hoping Ugly creation rules will be in the technician book but no idea if they will be.
I like your idea I've always felt their should be more Uglles with no TIE parts myself.

Interesting and sets to work recreating his old Z-95/R-41 Ugly.
Edit.
HT: 9
SS: 6
Armor: 3
Mass :3.5
Thrust: 8
So if I'm calculating this right it would be speed 4, Weapons loadout doesn't work though since the original had the R-41's wing lasers the Z-95's missile launchers and a light ion cannon added above and behind the cockpit.
Edited by RogueCoronaI have some notes on Uglies in my Starfighter Creation Thread. You'll find it here.
The pdf versions are in my signature. I never got around to cleaning it up (I lack the artistic skill and programs), so please forgive the mess.

These are very nice guidelines, although the creator's alias is a little odd. Anyways, I made a couple of uglies for a little pirate fleet the PCs will be facing in the future...a R-41 with the wings of a V-Wing for starters.
And I also statted up the Z-'ceptor giving it four medium laser cannons (two wing-tip from the TIE/IN and a pair from an X-Wing) and calling the turret on the TIE body an auto-blaster.
Y-TIE. Speed 0. ![]()

First flight may have had an embarrassing moment when the test pilot was asked to fire up the engines.
Edit: Yes I know its been explained there is some sort of small engine at the back of the main body (that the original Y didn't have), but the original sketch/design suggests its only a Y-wing with its sublight engines replaced by solar panels. Thus, it was laughed at by my players when it was first seen back during a WEG campaign long ago.
Edited by SturnActually a Y-TIE would be speed 2. Y-Wing body is mass 5, TIE Fighter Wings are Mass 1 and TIE engines are thrust 6

Actually, you missed my point.

Well, maybe not the force, but there's definately an element of happy thoughts and large amounts of hope involved each time.

Not my rules, I just googlefu things

That's what I thought. I just like that you posted them...the creator's alias is a little weird though.
I personally also thought the Tie-wing also know as the DIe-wing was a poor choice. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TYE-wing

When all you have is scrap parts, you put together what you can, even if it is "ugly".
