beating a dead horse but..........

Fahrenheit, being based around the normal body temperature of living humans, and an approximation of the freezing point of human blood, is simply the best temperature scale for humans. Maybe your physiology is different, though. If do, let's chat!

Totally with you on the rest of the metric system, though.

There are two types of countries in the world. Those that use the metric system and countries that walked on the moon. I'll stick with the good ol' USA! :-)

I wient with the Kirk and whisper build today. The first game I was doing awesome until I flew Kirk off the board lol. The second game I rolled the guy playing fat Han. I rolled more than good and wasted a few turns trying to take out whisper. He lost because of that.

I also played an Oicunn tie swarm build today. It was brutal to the guys I played against. I forgot how effective the pinging little shots of the Ties are.

Played a RearA and defender as well today. First time playing the defender and the white K turn is frickin amazing. Im going to stick with that for a few weeks and see how it shakes out against different competition. Two of the guys I played against today were pretty good players... two were noobs. The only thing I don't like about it is the short load out I have to put on the Decimator.

I like Echo better than whisper but I have learned you have to have that ps9 in the meta in my area.

I have become better at driving my Deci and have learned that you have to have Engine and Issard to stand any kind of chance.

Any ideas on these thoughts is appreciated and welcome.

So my next build will be

I'm amazed I've never seen that before, I've always kind of thought of this forum as a place where people come to beast dead horses and occasionally discuss x wing

okay.. attempt at serious discussion:

Imo. All the pilots are worth taking. And are at least casually effective. (meaning more than just casually possible, ex. tie bombers).

But what about at the tip top level of play? Is there a difference? I mean the TOP. Top 32 of the world.

Paul Heaver recently ran: Oicunn Pred Gunner, Doomshuttle, 2 Obsidian (4th place in .. TCO i think)

Morgan Reid: Chiraneau EIExpose Isard Rebel Captive, Whisper VI FCS ACD (1st, different tournament)

Someone else did: Kenkirk Predator Gunner Isard Rebel Captive Whisper with something conventional. (4th or so)

Texx aka Dallas Parker won the TCO using a kenkirk/whisper build. Believe he had isard gunner and predator on board.

I cant help but think of this comic when people discuss the merits of imperial vs metric (rebel):

also note that all the range rulers and ship bases are in metric dimensions, with the only imperial measurement used in the entire game being the 36 inch x 36 inch playing surface, which ironically in many parts of the world X-Wing is played on mats or boards that are 900mm x 900mm (35 7/16 x 35 7/16) anyway.

on topic I flew a Decimator + Phantom build at a tournament yesterday, going 3-1. the list was pretty solid.

Rear Admiral "Meatshield" Chinareau + Determination + EU + Ysanne Isard + Gunner

Echo + VI + ACD + FCS + Rebel Captive

Pretty much worked as intended, Admiral Meatshield would fly at the enemy at an angle, soak up some damage in the first pass and use EU in the second turn to fly past and behind the enemy ships all the while throwing out some damage while Echo flanks you opponents, picking ships off relatively unmolested.

the admiral would usually go down fighting but not before taking a few ships with him leaving Echo on clean up duty.

only loss was to a Dash build where echo ate a crit at Range 3 from an A-Wing revealing Direct hit, those **** fickle greens finally got me.
