New Horizons

By GrandAdmiralCrunch, in X-Wing

With Everyone so excited about the recent Raider Corvette Introduction, perhaps it is time to step back and recognize that FFG has set a new precedent.

For the first time we have seen an entirely new, and original craft in X-Wing. Could this lead to additional brand new craft?

The Rebel catalog has been looking a bit thin with no additional canon, and very few EU craft to add for that faction. Might we see original fighters coming their way?

The possibilities are interesting...

Interesting, but probably not anything that will actually happen. There are sufficient EU ships fir them to draw on until they start developing stuff from rebels and then the new movies, and once we get to that point the floodgates will be open for lots of new stuff from the "new EU".

I get what you're saying, but what i took away from this is that FFG saw they had no good analogue for a small capital ship for Epic play, (shut up about the Gozanti and Vigil) and took the steps to correct it, by making a brand new one.

I agree with this guy. The upcoming Raider ship was created just to fill a void that was having issues of being filled so they created a remedy.

Now I see that eventually Rebels and imperials will eventually run out of ships for the game so I honestly dont know what will happen to X-Wing once it reaches that point . I mean sure they could create new craft for the game I guess but I dont think it will happen. Maybe we will see more runs of ace pilots or different paint schems on ships...who knows.

Maybe they didn't. Maybe we'll see this ship in VII.

Probably not Episode 7, but I'd guess it might turn up in Rebles, or any of the forthcoming Star Wars comics set just post Yavin.
