Raider upgrade card identification

By Blue Seven, in X-Wing

Get it now?

Not entirely. Now that you have explained the graphic you did, I understand and concur that they can't be a team, but...

We have deduced most of the cards (did you see the second full list has links?), and have deduced that the last two are not crew ...

Why can't they be crew? given that it is an Imperial ship, if they are droids they HAVE to be crew, since the astromech slot isn't available.

Get it now?

I think so. :)

In fact, if they work as a team, using the word team in the title might be confusing.

Top row:

Advanced Targeting Computer x4

TIE/x1 x4

Cluster Missiles

Concussion Missiles

? x2 (*New missile or New Team)

Gunnery team

Captain Lorth Needa

Grand Moff Tarkin

Admiral Ozzel

Emperor Palpatine

Bottom row:

Single Turbolasers x2

Ion Cannon Battery x4

Quad Laser Cannons x2

Engineering team

Sensor Team

Tibanna Gas Supplies

Engine booster

Backup shield generator

Comms booster

3x raider titles

And again, the arrangement of cards for display would be Crew-Team-Crew, the crew cards start at Captain Lorth Needa, and jumping back and forth I'm guessing isn't likely either.

On the other hand, (and I know I'm contradicting myself) the droid seems the more likely to me of the three (missile/team/crew) to be crew. I don't know. It's the last unknown cards because they're tricky.

So far I like the mouse droid idea the best, and it doesn't have to say team in the title.

MSE-6-series repair droid .

MSE-6 Repair Droid

Huge Ship, Imperial Only

Action: Spend 1 energy. For every MSE-6 Repair Droid present on this ship, discard one of your facedown damage cards.

1 point.

That said, if I can add more uncertainty to the mix, in the Most Wanted product shot they have the Salvaged Astromech cards split up between the two rows, like we're expecting the Team cards to be in the Raider pack, as well as Crew cards in the top row not all together (two Turrets, two Crew, four Astros, an Illicit Upgrade, and finally Greedo as another crew card, albeit the only Unique crew card).

I would argue that means it's possible that the two unidentified cards are still Crew, and they are the only generic Crew cards, while all four at the end are Unique (but, we knew that already). I don't think we can count out Crew just yet.

I wouldn't disagree with your reasoning,

but I should point out the Most Wanted pack is like no other release (ZYZFH).

It would be more fair to compare the Raider display with the CR90 display.

First Row:

Engine Booster - Cargo

Ionization Reactor - Cargo

Tibanna Gas Supplies - Cargo

Sensor Team - Team

Gunnery Team - Team

Engineering Team - Team

Targeting Coordinator - Crew

Raymus Antilles - Crew

Han Solo- Crew

C-3PO- Crew

R2-D2- Crew

Leia Organa- Crew

Second Row:

Backup Shield Generator - Cargo

Comms Booster x2 - Cargo

Dodonna's Pride - Title

Tantive IV - Title

Jaina's Light - Title

Single Turbolasers x3 - Hardpoint

Quad Laser Cannons x3 - Hardpoint

But you have a point, they can toss all the cards in the air and use the photo from that...

I would be more likely to believe they would take the time to arrange/organize

them for display and do a good job.

Yeah it's definitely the only pack of its kind, and I don't know how much there is to read into it. I just thought it was neat that they actually have separated Crew cards out in a prior product shot.

I don't know how much the CR-90 image tells us, but I definitely agree that they take time to arrange stuff purposefully. Everything is usually grouped or ordered in some way, like all the Team cards together and then all the Crew cards together, or keeping all the Cargo cards on the left of the spread across both rows.

Out of the three possibilities proposed so far, Mouse Droid, Black R2s, Navy trooper, I like the linked mouse droids the best. Plus the IG88 title card already sets a precedent for linking cards/abilities.

Once per round after you

perform a primary weapon

attack you may spend two energy to

perform another primary weapon attack.

got my hands on the newest game trader today. Nothing new, unfortunately, other than the Raider ship cards that leaked earlier in the week. Although, there is a slightly clearer spread image. Emperor Palpatine IS in fact an upcoming crew card. DOES NOT appear to say Huge Ship only, just Imperial Only.

then why not post the rest of the card text?

surely you can read that also.

There is a big difference between being able to read the text and being able to see that there are italicized words in the header that are the right length for "Imperial Only" but leave no room for anything else.

Besides, the card spread has the Emperor in the upper row, even if the picture was clear enough to zoom in and read things, you could only see the first line or so.

The printed image is notably clearer than any I have found online. It's the last card on the top row. The emperor Palpatine text is plainly visible, as is the word imperial, which is very close to the center card, leadingrme to believe the text huge ship only does not fit.

The last card on the bottom row is a title, Impetuous,I believe, but I don't remember it's effect. Someone had it at a tournament so I only got a quick look.

I don't think those are priced right.

They could be R1 astromechs:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/R1-series_astromech_droid

"Yay" says the Empire, "we finally get astromechs on our ships."

R1 astromechs

"Oh for f**** sake"

Not serious of course, but I do like a hint of silly with my rampant speculation.

Actually, on a more serious note apparently the R3 astromech was common in Imperial capital ships (going by the information available on Wookiepedia and all the reliability that entails) so those cards could be R3s.

R3-M3 ... astromech droid which served the Galactic Empire aboard the first Death Star.

R3-Q5 ... astromech droids in service to the Galactic Empire in the early years of the Galactic Civil War.

R3-T6 ... astromech droid serving aboard the first Death Star in 0 BBY

R4-K5 ... astromech droid that would accompany Darth Vader on early missions for the Galactic Empire.

My personal favorite:

R2-Q5 ... astromech droid working for the Galactic Empire. R2-Q5 had black coverings highlighted by bronze access panels, and was a well-equipped droid with tools for repairing starships and special, hidden spy devices, and a hidden blaster cannon under one of its dome flaps.

R2-Q5 was charged with storing the Emperor's plans against the Rebel Alliance within its memory bank as well as being personally responsible for programming hyperspace co-ordinates directly into Emperor Palpatine's shuttle during covert missions.

:) I'm sure somebody at FFG is having a blast watching us trying to figure out the cards :D

Middle of the top row, VETERAN something...

so close but not quite.
