Raider upgrade card identification

By Blue Seven, in X-Wing

So along with some other eagle eyed types I was hoping to identify the cards fanned out which are already issued. We could then see how many new cards there are.

This is what we have so far:

Top row:

Adv targeting comp x4

Tie/x1 x4

Cluster missiles

concussion missiles

? x2 (team or missile?)

Gunnery team

Captain Needa

Grand moff Tarkin

Admiral Ozzel

Emp palpatine ?

Bottom row:

Single turbolaser x2

Ion cannon battery x4

Quad laser cannons x2

Engineering team

Sensor team

Tibanna gas supplies

Engine booster

Backup shield generator

Comms booster

3x raider titles

Can anyone work out any more?

Edited by Blue Seven

Top row, third from the right: Same art as Grand Moff Tarkin in a different game.

Edit:

Those three title cards might be two titles and one modification.

Edit2:

Palpatine uses this art . That pretty much confirms the emperor.

It would be useful if you could post a copy of the picture in the OP for us to reference, as large a one as you can get.

@dvor added tarkin.

You might be right, but both the rebel epics got 3 titles. Anyway, it's definitely 2 titles. The third in is up for question as you say.

@forgottenlore: the only one released so far is the small one on the news page.

Once they release a bigger one we should get a better idea what the new cards are and hopefully what they do. When I see one I'll add it...

As an afterthought, the pair of unknowns on the top row could be a new missile or similar to go with the advanced. It would follow the pattern set by the rebel transport having 2 flechette torps for the x-wing.

Is there a precident for a larger image coming later? 15878717038_de8990f897_o.png

Is it me, or does that look like a GR-75 debris cloud? Epic-game obstacles?

Is there a precident for a larger image coming later?

I don't know where they come from, but most previews I tend to see copies of the spread show up in google searches and forum posts that are much larger than I can bring up from the preview article on my devices.

With such a new design and no prior Star Wars lineage, I'd say any artwork is likely to be from FFG's inhouse art department. I think we'll get fed information bit by bit for a while.

Is it me, or does that look like a GR-75 debris cloud? Epic-game obstacles?

They don't look like asteroids or rubble debris that came with the last wave, they do look much more like ship parts.

Those circles in front of the aft hull have

an attack, defense and hull value...

anyone want to take a guess.

@UnfairBanana: The obstacles look very much like gr75 debris. The lower one is the nose. You can see the multicoloured cargo containers.

@gabe69: they appear to be satellites or similar. There are 5 'dumb' ones on the other side too. They're probably for the scenario missions as it said something about putting the ships through trails.

@various: This spread image is all we usually get, but with the smaller ships the cards take up much more space and so are clearer. There's much more to fit in to the image for the epic ships so the cards are too low-res to read unfortunately. We may get a better look in later previews hopefully.

I'm really surprised to see that the Raider aft card has seven upgrade slots!

In terms of sets of types it looks like 2/2/2/1

Following the CR90 pattern, 2 crew, 2 hardpoints, 2 teams, 1 cargo.

Top row:

Adv targeting comp x4

Tie/x1 x4

Cluster missiles

concussion missiles

? x2 (*New missile or New Team)

Gunnery team

? (*New Team or New Crew)

Grand moff Tarkin ?

Adm ozzel ?

Emp palpatine ?

Bottom row:

Single turbolaser x2

Ion cannon battery x4

Quad laser cannons x2

Engineering team

Sensor team

Tibanna gas supplies

Engine booster

Backup shield generator

Comms booster

3x raider titles

I figure that since the first unidentified is duplicated

it isn't going to be a new team, ie they are missiles.

I figure that since the end three have been guessed as crew

the second unidentified will be a team not a fourth crew.

So logically my guess is a new missile and a new team.

Those circles in front of the aft hull have

an attack, defense and hull value...

anyone want to take a guess.

I want to take a guess ^^

Its strange but it seems that it isnt a 0 defence at the front section.

Could this be:

Front:

Attack: 4

Defence: 2

Hull: 8

Shields: 8

Hardpoint, Hardpoint, Hardpoint, Crew, Team

Back:

Energy: 6

Defence: 0

Hull: 8

Shields: 6

Hardpoint, Crew, Team, Team, System, System, System

So you want to cripple the back section first ... and the Raider don't like flankers

The front definitely has 0 agility, 8 hull and 6 shields. We can see that very clearly on the base in the picture of just the ship without the cards.

However, on the post you quoted, gabe is talking about the, what are probably, space mine tokens in between the ship's base and the target locks that have attack, defense and hull values.

It don't look like a 0 to me - but I might be wrong, of course.

The front section looks heavily armored. Even the turrets are heavily armored - if you want to see it this way.

I'd agree with what they are. Looks like 2/2/2/1 to me too.

Judging by the gap on the visible bit of the fore section's upgrade bar it seems to only have 4. So probably 1/1/1/1 like the cr90's aft.

The single unknown card seems to have a unique dot. So it would seem to be a crew as hard points, cargo and teams use limited instead. Maybe it's piett?

The pair doesn't look like it is unique, so could be pretty much anything. Given that it's between a team and missiles it seems likely it's one of those. FFG seem to like grouping upgrades in a spread so it seems unlikely to be any of the ones sorted further away. Being a team would also line up the teams on both rows nicely.

Additionally as a cr90 with the tantive 4 title currently has a redundant team slot and there are two of this card, my money is currently on a new team with a spare so your '90 can have one too.

Or it could be yet another new missile...

a redundant team slot

It's not truly redundant.

It allows you to equip all your teams to the same section and means you discard one less team when the front is crippled.

It seems that they are putting most of the upgrades ie the team and crew where the bridge is. In the cr90 that's the fore section, but the raider has its bridge in the aft.

The fore card looks like the cripple side to me, so the size of the gap probably has more to do with there being only one upgrade total.

I'm not seeing the dot, and I'd much prefer a new team over a fourth crew.

I think a new missile for the pair is much more likely than duplicated teams.

Scanning the LCG art not much new comes to mind.

I dig the reinforce action, as it creates an interesting strategic choice. Having said that, however, I'd love to see Huge ships have some sort of Armor mechanic, a sort of permanent Reinforce token. Perhaps fed with energy, or disabled by a crit or something. But it feels a bit weird that a Tie Fighter can always put damage onto a Huge ship. The hull should just shrug that off!

That's actually my biggest problem with the huge ships. Given how the mechanics work and the existence of turbo lasers it actually makes more sense to bring swift interceptor type craft to attack a capital ship rather than bombers and the like.

I noticed a new thread and someone was asking about the stats:

4 0 8 6 , Reinforce, Recover

6 0 8 4 , Target Lock, Coordinate

Well, first of all the product shot is called "SWX30 product shot tall" and I tried a bunch of variant URLs but couldn't find anything in higher resolution. I'm hoping there is something a bit clearer, because I really want to make out the 75% of text that's visible on Juno's pilot card. So far all the upgrades look spot on, especially the new guesses at Tarkin, Ozzel, and Palpatine.

Edit: also, looking again at the product shot, I'm pretty sure the unknown duplicate card in the top row is a new missile. It looks like there should be two rows of text in the name of the card, although all that's visible looks like the M at the start of the second row. If you kind of squint, the text looks the same as the M from the two missiles to the left.
