broken mini's

By wblackthorn, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I contacted FFG back on 12/28/2014 about a broken probe droid and got a response back today that they have shipped a replacement Probe Droid out to me.

This is very surprising. Only because what I went through. Opened the game and found all 3 probe droids were disconnected from their bases.

Wrote FFG about it the first time. They cancelled my support request stating that not enough information was provided.

Wrote FFG about it the second time, making sure to fill out all fields (I swore I did the first time). They cancelled my support request stating that not enough information was provided.

Wrote back to specific FFG individual that sent me the above posts. They replied by saying I needed to send pictures for quality control.

Wrote FFG about it a third time, filling out all fields and providing pictures. Have not heard back at all, and it has been more than a week. Very disappointing.

In the meantime, since I wanted to play the game, I went ahead and super glued it all back together. Combine these issues with the fact that the AT-ST was almost impossible to put together (specifically the chin gun) without causing damage to my body or the mini, and I am very disappointed with the quality control of this game given its price point.

I am also disappointed with support IN THIS CASE. Note that I have had other reasons to contact FFG on other games and their support had always been top notch. I am also willing to be understanding about delays in getting responses since this whole chain started over the holidays. But now we are well into the New Year, and still no response?

I received my set on Monday and only took the time to punch the sheets and begin reading the guides. Yesterday,I finally took a look at all my minis. Had one probe Droid that had come free from its base. I also had one Nexu with a broken tail.

I used some super glue to repair the Droid and reinforce the other two, but the poor Nexu is still missing the tip of his tail. If I can't repair it out get a replacement from FFG, he may become the elite nexu with a back story and battle damage...

My copy was also not perfect - one droid completely off the base, one is only attached by one leg, the other - by two legs out of three.

one of my droids was lifted of the base, but could be easily glued.

But let's be honest, it's less of a quality issue than simple physics (if you focus on forces/ center of gravity ) or chemistry (if you look at the material)

Given the basic design of the probe droids, they just will remain fragile.

(the problem will be solved when physicists develop miniature anti-grav so that the probe droids can hover naturally)

I had a couple of broken Probe Droids, and after a little run-around trying to contact FFG (Imperial Assault wasn't listed in the broken pieces form, so I used the support email initially. Got a reply a few days later saying to try again, and when I did, the form had been updated), I received some new pieces promptly. I was happy to receive them so quickly.

I had one ProbeDroid broken clean of the base, while the other two are only attached to it with only only one foot.

One E-Web has his cable broken.

For the chin-gun of the AT-ST: I had to cut off pieces of the mount-points to be able to snap it in place. but now the

gun fits and is moveable.

Unfortunately I also had some issues with my set. 2x Probe Droids broken from their bases, Garrkhan's axe head broken off above his right hand, and a Nexu with it's tail broken at the mid point.

Pretty disappointing given the cost of the set.

I've raised a case with FFG and provided a picture of the damaged mini's - will see how they handle it.

EDIT: They've responded that they'll be happy to help and ship out the replacement parts at no cost, so that's pretty cool. Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long.

EDIT: Had a notification that the parts had shipped on the 5th Feb. That's about a 10 day turnaround. Pretty happy with that - well done and thanks FFG :)

Buddy got it and had a damaged die (huge dent in it from some sort of mishap) and one probe droid was broken into three pieces. Base - a leg and the rest of it.

Hopefully they'll replace these things, it was the only negative we really had with the experience.

Hey,

one of the Trandoshan Hunters is missing its arms and I contacted FFG a while ago, but nothing so far :/

If you guys send in support tickets to the replacement parts guys, be sure to check the link on the bottom of your email.

I sent in a ticket about two weeks ago. I haven't heard anything back yet, but if I click the link it says my status is "in process" and at the bottom of the link page it gives a bit of info.

Like I said; it's been two weeks now, an they haven't replied. But my request hasn't been closed yet. I imagine there are LOTS of requests.

Did you email, or raise a request using the form here:

http://parts.fantasyflightgames.com/

I used the form and they updated it within a reasonable time frame. I didn't get an email about the update - you have to go back to the same page, click on the 'Check Status' link then input your Reference Code (you'll get this when you raise the request with the form) and your email address (the same one you provided when raising the request).

Fantasy Flight Customer Service was very helpful, I got all the replacement parts I needed after I sent pictures of the damaged pieces, happy customers here.

Yeah, I had a Probe Droid broken off of it's base. I went here: http://parts.fantasyflightgames.com/

Submitted a request with a picture, and got this message:

"We are more than happy to help you with your request and will send the requested replacement at no cost to you."
I submitted my request on 26 February. I expect to see the new Probe Droid sometime this week. FFG has always provided awesome Customer Service to me.

One of my probe droids was completely broken off, and another had one leg disconnected.

Nothing was, but that AT-ST has to be one of the worst plastic models I've seen. Huge residue, and I had to file away about a third of the leg connecters to get them into the "body", same with the mouth cannon. that one almost broke apart before I got it in.

Oh, and I have a retarded black die, where most of the white color is al over the die and not in the holes, and he has a strong tendency (about 25-33%) to roll triple block. I just don't think that they will ship ONE replacement die to europe.

Other than shaving off the corners so the gun pops in, I had no other issues other than some flash and mold lines, but nothing serious. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
