Q1 2015?? This thing is on the boat!
How are you going to use the TIE x1 advanced? Do you think there will include other useful cards, or epic and advanced only?

Alot depends on how many epic points this ship is worth. If you can fit 2 in a build then just wow...
I haven't played epic before - Rebels aren't my bag. I'm nor sure if epic is gimmick or if this will truly be worth releasing a huge swarm
I haven't 100% decided where to go first with the new advanced toys. Hyper tanky seems fun, but hyper consistent damage is nice too. I'll probably leave the explosive nature of ATC to others to try ... or... hrm... Maarek is pretty good with that.... hrm....
Edited by DamoelMaarek will surely see some love in the new wave.
So it looks like we might have a new generic as well as several aces. The pic is small, but do you think so?
It's looking like Juno Eclipse is this mystery PS8 pilot, she was hand picked by vader to head the Black eight squad of advanced TIEs...
So, another awesome female pilot for the Empire.. you can find her bio on wookiepedia..
I think the article said 4 new unique pilots, and that leaves room for the back side of the cardboard ship templates to be the genarics..
Edited by onewayUgh yes! More women!
I love the Raider. Hands down, straight up. I probably get an Epic game in for every 12 games of standard or so, or roughly 2-3 a month. It's a fantastic format that if you haven't had the chance yet, it should be your top priority. Seriously Imp players, someone you know ought have a '90, and if you haven't sent out an attack squadron to destroy it yet, the Emperor would be most displeased. Yes the game is about dogfighting. But the point of dogfighting is to gain the ability (or deny it) to attack strategic ground and naval targets. Go get you some! Hoo-rah

This night teror will come with a ton of awesome Crew Uniques to use so that will be cool to see the Imp's catch up on. You pay the same price for the this as the other 'vette but this time you get a basically free ship, with I'm guessing a full four new Unique pilots. The PS8 probably isn't the Inquisitor but wouldn't be surprised to find him as a six or seven. The new title is almost too good seeing that Shotgun Vader will now just get a free sensor or for a point get a gun upgrade and trade in the prockets to net a 2pt reduction to that loadout. Shiza that's scary. ![]()
Over all. Yes, great addition. Congratulations FFG on being permitted to add to the franchise this time instead of just rehashing the older stuff. You've paid it forward, now your getting your due reward. That's awesome. The new baby is beautiful! ![]()
Is Juno Eclipse the Imperial officer on Ruthlessness?
It's possible, the art for her on the Wookiepedia seems similar...
I've never played epic before. Anyone have a good video or blog resource for playing with huge ships?
yes, Yes, YES!!!!!
I would buy this just for the TIE Advanced goodness.
If you can fit 2 in a build then just wow...
No chance of that. It will cost 3 epic points just like the CR-90 does. It's the only value that possibly makes sense.
It's only in 'Design' stage yet,
but all of FFG have been reaaaalllyyy good boys and girls all year long,
they are sure that Santa will bring them a kickass, superfast, state of the art trans-pascific hydrofoil to ship all their stuff in 2015 with ![]()

Sadly no. I was always a kinda jump first and ask questions on the way down kinda gamer. To me the learning experience of getting games under your belt with the game pieces involved is more than half the enjoyment of the game so I never really bothered to look until after I started and then I wasn't finding anything overly worth while after a certain point. The guys I play with were better sounding boards and
If you played the team play version from the original rule book you should already have an idea of what to expect in terms of the games general flow, so that's handy. I could try to answer specific questions but without sitting down to a game it's difficult to explain epic play. There are some key points I always consider though:
When evaluating a single ship I must remember that against 3-400pts any ship could be at full at the start and dead by the end of any turn.
There will be close to three or four times as many ships so anything that has a bubble of effectiveness is much more important. Thus assault missile are must takes for both sides for a change.
Redundant backup is your friend. Don't bank on anything. More is better for both sides
And lastly in Epic it is far more important to keep your head on the global game when planning maneuvers. Actions are for the micromanagement.

Yeah that red does seem to say it is only 'in development' but the article says specifically that it is expected in Q1 2015.
I think they are playing a trick on us and have already included it with Wave 6 on the boat.

The two generics are a Storm Sqn and a Tempest Sqn pilot, so nothing new there. But four new uniques, and they've only spoiled one of them so far. It's gonna get interesting. ![]()
I agree that it will be at least 3 epic points. If they plan to have another imperial epic ship, then I think they will cap it at 3, but if not, I think it could be more epic points and be more powerful than a CR-90, but costed accordingly.

It has to be 3 points.
4 points means you can't use it in Team Epic, since you're limited to 3 epic points per team member. It seems unlikely they'll make it 2, because then you could have 2 of them in a single list.

Check Hothie's thread on EPIC play in the Bat Rep section. He goes into build strategies and crew cost/benefit breakdown.
I'll be looking to reference it myslef when I get either:
a) A CR-90 for X-mas
b) A Raider when it comes out.
Edited by SergovanCheck Hothie's thread on EPIC play in the Bat Rep section. He goes into build strategies and crew cost/benefit breakdown.
Then what is it doing in the bat rep section?
It really all depends on how you and friends play epic, I fell in love with the epic play style.
I set games up for my 2 boys, 10 and 11, and they play one side with a mission to accomplish.
The last one I used the Cr-90 and the transport as impierial (though it had reb stuff all over it).
Full details at the beta mission builder
But we also had some 3d print pieces (turrets in play) and the rebels (my kids) were to destroy the imperial storage depot.
The final battle result was 3 of 9 generic tie fighters chasing luke skywalker around in a circle as he shot at anything that moved and didn't move.
Finally Luke along with Han and Biggs was captured the transport was crippled beyond repair and the Cr-90 was heavily damaged in its aft section. And that led to the next mission...
The epic rescue and destroy the convoy!
So it all depends on how you want to play. If I had a group of steady people who were interested I think the Raider will be a huge deal in this style of play especially as a convoy escort..
But then again..
I see that ship and some of the mod threds and am kinda drooling too....
Edited by Cev LostThat sounds very fun! I am going to use my minis (especially the Raider) for my Edge of the Empire campaign but the missions increasingly sound tempting to me.
I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, so I'll give it a go...:
Since FFG just invented the Raider-class, and everything has to be cleared through (Lucas, Disney, whatever), then what do you think is the possibility the vessel might show up in Ep VII? Or, failing that, Ep. VIII?
It could also show up in Rebels.
