Rouge means red folks. And Rogue Squadron- as everyone knows- was officially Red Squadron until sometime after Endor. So back off the people being historically accurate.

Then you have to use Squadron in French for Rouge to be proper (I knew it meant red, but Red Squadron and Rogue Squadron really are different, Luke and Wedge are the only ones that consider it the same squadron)
