Darth Vader Crew and WED repair droid

First off, in the picture of the cards for the new imp huge ship they gave us, can anybody see if there is a WED 15 repair droid?

Cuz I had a thought,

Use vader crew along side the repair droid. It would eat up your energy/action a little bit, but you could almost deal extra damage for an extended period of time. Especially if you built around those two cards. You'd want ways to get lots of energy, like tibanna gas, something to help regen sheilds, cuz with vader hurting you.... along with the repair droid for when you do start taking damage.

can anybody see if the raider has the "recover" action? That would also be useful.

I think it could work.

The WED-15 is Huge Ship Only not Rebels only. So there's no reason you couldn't use it on the Raider. 1 Energy to remove 1 face down card would make Vader easier to use. Could even only use him every other turn and have it only cost you 2 energy to effectively use him for free.

Which causes me to get a funny visual of the droid running around following Vader as he rips open the bulkheads.

I can see the droid sighing and then scurry off when the Dark Lord glares at it. Then it peaks around the corner waiting for him to tear something else apart and it has to go fix it.

Well if Corellian Corvette is right about the stats...

I don't think that will work that well. consider that Vader does 2 damage per crit. So if you use him 3 times in a turn, you take 6. You'll need to spend 6 energy to recover the shields, and it's unlikely it will produce 6 energy a turn, so fairly quickly you'll run out of energy to either recover or else shoot.

The CR-90 can store 5 energy, and one of the issues people have had with that is how hard it is to have enough energy to fire weapons and do anything else.

The Raider may have more hard points then the CR-90, meaning even greater energy requirements.

I think while Vader could be fun, and effective, it's not something you'll be able spam due to energy limits.

I hope we see some new Epic rules that make energy not so debilitating. Right now the epic ships aren't so scary as they can't hardly keep up with there energy demands.

I can see it now the raider has 6 hull and is surrounded by 3 ships all with 1 hull. It shoots at all 3 missis each time but Vader kills them then him self and all that is left on the board is Maarek Steel in the Advanced

Honestly, they could just release a title/mod fix for the Tantive and make sure the energy limits on the Crocodile are high enough for fun games.

All Epics have Recover and you can see it on the base (Recover and Reinforce are on the front, Coordinate and a new action drawn as two opposing arrows on the back. That's right, kids. No target locks for the raider unless he has his good buddy Jendon along). But believe me when I say it's not broken in the slightest.

I've used Vader on the CR-90. The thing about Vader is that the way he's written (FFG may change how he works via FAQ but he's quite well balanced at the moment) the opponent chooses which section to damage because Vader doesn't specify it. Which will be the low shielded back. The CR-90 has 3 aft shields which means one Vadershot leaves it vunerable and two damages it. If you trigger Vader on every one of your many, many attacks then he'll shred your ship, you don't have the option of spreading the pain around the vessel and then slamming the Recover button.

The Raider has 4 aft shields, which means you can get two Vaders out of it if you're willing to leave it completely unshielded. This is all assuming that you spend large amounts of energy regenerating your shields and you've got your aft section completely protected from enemy fire.

Vader won't be bad on the Raider but he'll require an energy investment to stop him crushing your ship and will leave your back just that bit more vunerable, and that's assuming your back isn't being shot.
