Not seeing anything on the US Amazon yet, but Miniature Market seems to keep things at about 1/3 off for those of us in the states. My plan so far is to keep my preorders from Amazon (should have ordered more of those) and get the expansions from Miniature Market.
Armada - £46 on Amazon UK, with price guarantee
Update from Amazon today: Estimated arrival date has been revised to 24-27 April (from 16-19 May).
Hey, no butting in line
No change on mine which puts yours shipping first now ![]()
Banged in the order as soon as I read this thread. Yep it is showing as unavailable. But got an email yesterday updating me that the in stock date had been brought forward to between 24th and 27th April.
And if they do end up cancelling because of an error. There is always the FLGS. The only reason I am going via Amazon is because at this quoted price you can't afford not to give it a go.
Also they now have the "wave" ships for pre-order. Between £24 and £30 a go. A rough guide for US dollars is x1.5, so between $36 and $45. These have not been marked as unavailable like Armada. And I haven't seen a price estimate on these yet, so don't know if that is higher or lower than expected.
Edited by Andy1909Given Amazon are expecting to charge £30 for the VSD £46 for the core set is absurdly cheap! I'm having two! I kinda hope the extension doesn't come with any unique cards (of course it will) so I don't need to get any, as I don't think it'll be necessary in terms of number of models, but at that price!
Edited by mazz0you cursed limeys! US amazon still hasn't put up any of the expansions, though I'll probably buy them from my FLGS, i always feel a little guilty rolling in with a bag full of stuff i bought on the internet
Really wish I'd seen this thread earlier ![]()
I saw the price on Amazon, thought this is to good to be true so did a quick search, found this thread, read it then headed bac to Amazon to be greeted with "Currently unavailable". sign
It doesn't even appear in search so I assumed its been removed or sold out. To say I'm gutted is an understatement.
I was looking at it yesterday, searching Amazon directly doesn't return it but Google still has it indexed;

Ah cheers for link. Might be worth keeping an eye on it.
Just got the order cancelled today, they say they can no longer get it from their supplier. (Strangely, they can still get Imperial Assault... but then they didn't mess the price up on that). The expansions are all available for pre-order, guess they must be coming from a different supplier than the Cores \sarcasm
It'll be interesting to see the price if, likely when, it miraculously becomes available again.

Same here, I shall be complaining and requesting that they fulfil their price promise when they re-add it. Cheeky buggers.

Hold up, details please. You are saying that Amazon has no canceled your preorders, correct? I'm also picking up that you are in the UK, is that also correct?
Holy necro batman. Anyway, the price listed here translates to $70 US. That is hardly that good a deal.

Yep!
Not an honest "we've decided that was too cheap", oh no, the lying ***s are claiming that their suppliers have said it's no longer available.
Just got the cancellation email from amazon UK. Again, reason was not available.
Just sent them an email expressing surprise at this and asking if it was price issue! not that that question needed to be asked.
Currently going through and cancelling all pre-orders I have with them, not just FFG stuff. putting in the pre-orders with other suppliers. If they hadn't used the not available excuse I wouldn't be doing this.

That's considerably cheaper than anywhere else in the UK (RRP is £80). Cheapest ATM is about £65. Chaos Cards had it for £60 a while back but then put the price up. Remember, the dollar to pound conversion is never favourable to us UKers ![]()
Just had the email myself. I will be repying to them asking if they will still honour the price guarantee once the game is released, or whether this is just an excuse to avoid honouring their promises.
Meh - I pre-ordered at that price because it seemed worth a punt. In all fairness, I have just dropped a small fortune on Scum and Villainy and on X Wing generally, so this is actually sort of a blessing as it's £46 I won't have to spend and it won;t be distracting me from playing X Wing which is my current 'core' game.
I actually laughed out loud when I read the email. It's not like I wasn't half-expecting it. We can all beat our chests and get huffy about it, but I'm pretty sure that Amazon T&Cs are the same as any other online retailer, whereby the contract is not created between you and them until they have dispatched the goods. So as annoying as it might be, there won't realistically anything that you can do about it, even if they were to re-list it at a higher price.
Ho hum - a life of Scum and Villainy for me ![]()
The phrase "price guarantee" suggests they should legally have to honour it.
The phrase "price guarantee" suggests they should legally have to honour it.
It suggests that they have an obligation to honour that price on that order. But they cancelled that order. So you would have to make a new order in order to buy it, and that order is subject to any price guarantee offered at the time you make it, not a historical one.
Like I said, I get that it's irritating to people who were really bothered about getting the game (i.e. not me) and I'm not seeking to belittle that frustration. But they have no LEGAL obligation to sell to you - they have no contract at all with you until they have dispatched the goods and taken your money - in this case neither has happened, so they are not obligated to do anything.
PR wise, it's not good for them in a way, as there will be a vocal minority of people who will get upset about it, but I doubt that a company selling as much as they do to as many customers as they have will mind much about that.
From their website, under the T&Cs for Pre Order Price Guarantee:
- Pre-order Price Guarantee doesn't apply in the case of mispricing, described in our Pricing Policy, or to orders cancelled by us in accordance with the Conditions of Use & Sale. Our sale of products to you is subject to our Conditions of Use & Sale and to our Pricing Policy.
And for further clarity, their Conditions of Use and Sale has this to say about orders and contracts:
Your order is an offer to Amazon to buy the product(s) in your order. When you place an order to purchase a product from Amazon, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order (the "Order Confirmation E-mail"). The Order Confirmation E-mail is acknowledgement that we have received your order, and does not confirm acceptance of your offer to buy the product(s) ordered. We only accept your offer, and conclude the contract of sale for a product ordered by you, when we dispatch the product to you and send e-mail confirmation to you that we've dispatched the product to you (the "Dispatch Confirmation E-mail")
Yep, also cancelled.
No biggy, was worth a shot. Plenty of other places to order it, more in line with the prices found elsewhere sadly.
Maybe this is only for our friends over the pond? Mine still says "Arriving tomorrow by 8pm" but also "Not yet shipped". Perhaps Amazon.uk is getting product through the US and saw the delay from our ports as too much? All speculation of course, have any US orders been canceled?
