Armada - £46 on Amazon UK, with price guarantee
Anyone heard anything? I see its gone from out of stock to ships in two to four weeks
I sw coolstuffinc ahd it listed as available now, but when I checked my preorder on Amazon, the estimated delivery date isn't until late April 27-May 1.
But on the page for Armada on Amazon, it lists it there as in stock and shipping from March 27-April 1 if you choose expedited shipping.
I'm rather confused.
Edited by Vlad3theImpalerThe in stock option at Amazon is for third party vendors. Their own option still says usually ships in two to four weeks
I got an email from Amazon:
Edited by mazz0Dear Mr Illingworth,
It has come to our attention that you have not as yet played with X-Wing: Wave VI or the Skirmish mode of Imperial Assault. To give you the opportunity to enjoy these games fully we are delaying the dispatch of Star Wars: Armada. You now have until Friday, April the 17th; we hope this is enough time for you to fully enjoy your other money-sinks.
Yours,
Amazon Support Group
Right, I've spent my Armada money on Wave I for Imperial Assault now, so I really hope they don't try and dispatch it this afternoon now! (I get paid tomorrow)
Just had a mail from Amazon saying they expect my set to arrive next Thursday, the second April...
I have it on the standard free delivery 3-5 days so I guess that means they are shipping today
Edited by GrobbWell, I hope the same goes for mine! I've got mine on first class, so hopefully it'll arrive on Monday, but I haven't had any update from them yet...
I see Amazon have dropped the price by £13 in a day. Still on 2 to 4 weeks delivery though.
One of the Amazon 3rd party sellers is down to £62 or so.
The delivery date on mine still says mid April. No idea why Amazon are getting their stock so much later than other stockists but it's frustrating to say the least. At this rate I'll have my expansions before the core set!
Mine's the same annoyingly
They are probably bringing them in from the U.S. as it is so much cheaper

I can't remember for sure, but I think someone said something about it being a repercusion for Amazon having previously jumped release dates?

That was me. It was purely a rumour from my local distributor, but certainly they are struggling for some reason.

The theory certainly makes sense, but I suppose there could quite easily be other explanations too then. I doubt we'll ever know for certain though, as Amazon will want to save face, and FFG will be too professional to confirm the theory themselves.
Amazon UK is several weeks away from delivery still, I got this from them yesterday;
"Hello,
This is an update regarding the "Star Wars: Armada Tabletop Miniatures Game" from our fulfillment center
There is no stock in any UK FC to be shipped.Until stock is received by an FC, this ASIN can't ship out.The FC can't tell when stock will be available to send to you.
Thank you."
Amazon UK orders are showing 2-4 weeks delivery time, I'm penciled in for April 16th delivery date.
If I wasn't getting 2 boxes at £46 a pop I'd have gone to element games by now.
Considering that the when you look at the seller list the shop next to the Amazon order line is a "fullfilled by Amazon" option :-)
So Amazon do have it in their warehouse somewhere, it's just not owned by them. You have to be impressed (sarcasm) that a multi-national company can't get a product in stock when a host of small suppliers can.
I have been debating getting a second set, I might end up buying a first set elsewhere and regarding Amazon as the "potential" second set. If they get it they get, if not, no biggie.
I was one of the wants who jumped in for the £46 price. Wondering if they are holding off getting stock till everyone gets sick of waiting and cancels their pre-orders, or am I being too suspicious.
Anybody ordered from Amazon at the full price?
Edited by Andy1909Just got a response from Amazon to a query I made asking if there was any update on when it would be in stock. Half a page reply boiled down to "they haven't got a clue" it could be within the 2-4 week delivery estimate or it may be longer than the 2 -4 week delivery estimate.
Well someone on the UK armada facebook gruop just posted up saying that not only had amazon told it was going to be shipped today but that he has just recieved notification that it has been delivered to his neighbours house today.. so something is happening
Right
I just spoke with Amazon support and asked them why my order was listed as delivered tomorrow but not dispatched and said i was worried something had gone wrong behind the scenes.
They confirmed that something HAD in fact gone wrong and the guy pushed the order to go out tomorrow and expedited from super saver to next day as well as offering me a free next day on a future order....
Time to start giving Amazon some hassle if your waiting on them I think
I just had a mail telling me that mine was due to arrive on the 9th. So the dates are coming forward.
Right, just had a chat with an Amazon rep about the possibility of upgrading my dispatch method to Prime, and found out some info as a result.
The rep recommended I stick with the supersaver delivery on the basis that upgrading to a faster dispatch method would actually reset my place in the queue and result in my copy being dispatched a week or so later. When I asked for more details (more specifically with some people already having their copies dispatched, whilst I'm due mid-late April) it turns out they're using a first in first out method of dispatching the orders.
It looks like they are getting stock in, but at a relatively slow rate.
Following on from Nekomatafuyu's post.
I was reading through the Facebook UK/IRL post and it seems like people who ordered on the 9th March are in the process of getting theirs either now or in the next few days.
I've got an order date of 11th March and a delivery date of 18th April at the moment. Which is pain since before they cancelled it was 25/12/14! So hopefully that's not too far down the queue. Of course, doesn't help we are about to go into a 4 day holiday weekend either.
Reminded of a line from the Big Bang Theory, paraphrasing Leonard, If they didn't want to be shouted at by geeks they shouldn't have started a scifi channel. Or in Amazons case, if they didn't want to be shouted at by geeks, they should have got more copies of Armada in :-)
Edited by Andy1909My order date was the 9th March and my estimated delivery date is now 9th April so that makes sense.
My copy from Amazon arrived this afternoon, though was quite the weird few days.
Basically, last week received an email telling me that it would arrive on Monday.
Monday morning get an email telling me that they are having stock issues and it will now be with me on the 18-27 of April.
Then 4am yesterday morning get an email saying that it's been dispatched and will be with me today. Which it was.
Have unpacked everything and read the rules. Now just need to get a game in and try it all out.
Got word, delivery date brought forward and status is now preparing for despatch. So expected on the 8th to 10th. Cursing the long weekend again :-)
I wonder why amazon always feel the need to tell me things like this in an email at 2am in the morning. And no, I can't switch delivery reports off.
