Armada - £46 on Amazon UK, with price guarantee

By Extropia, in Star Wars: Armada

I dont know how many Uk folks are here, but i just saw this and pre-ordered mine. Basically the price promise means that this is the most it will possibly cost you. Grab it now!

Huh, Amazon US has it similarly at 53.96 off from 59.99 list... Seems a bit odd for the listed price to be so low, but it's sold and shipped from Amazon with FFG as the publisher. (Also with an April 22 release date, which is actually feeling more accurate considering all of wave 1 is still in development based off the upcoming page.)

Got me two pre-orders :)

Ordered two core sets myself from Amazon US. I'm in Canada, and it's not showing on Amazon.ca for some reason. So I set it to ship to Canada. Even the shipping seems ridiculously low.

But the ISBN is identical to the listing on FFG's own page.

No expansions listed on Amazon yet, though. Just the core set.

Thanks, I'm in for two. :D

Thanks for the heads-up. I was initally only going to get one core set until I had a chance to play the game, but at that price, I went ahead and got two.

Strange that this listing comes up under the books section. I hope they honor this because I just ordered 2 core sets :D

Done, thanks!

Couldn't resist at this price. Can't decided if I should order another!

Also with an April 22 release date, which is actually feeling more accurate considering all of wave 1 is still in development based off the upcoming page.

Nooooooo!!!

My pre order dropped in price so I'm happy it's more money I can put toward expansions.

Another friends getting the starter as well so well have double the dice and other stuff anyway.

I'll pitch in to say I also pre-ordered two sets instead of one thanks to the price drop. I think $100 isn't unreasonable, but at $50 a pop that's not something I can pass up.

Like a fool I was desperately hoping that they wouldn't put up the price before my next pay day, then I realised that they don't take payment until release anyway >.<

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news to anyone and I hope that I am wrong (probably not though). I am almost certain that this price will go up prior to the release date therefore leaving customers stuck with the difference if they agree to pay, otherwise having to cancel their orders.

First and final case and point, "restrictions apply" listed next to this product should be a dead giveaway.

Here is Amazon's Policy regarding "Pre-order Price Guarantee!" :

Pre-order Price Guarantee

Amazon.com's price for not-yet-released items sometimes changes between the time the item is listed for sale and the time it is released and shipped. Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, software, or video game, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the end of the day of the release date. A pre-order price guarantee message will appear on your Order Summary during the checkout process. If you use 1-Click ordering, pre-order price protection will be automatically applied. The order summary in Your Account will reflect the lowest price within 24-48 hours of the price change.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to items sold by Amazon.com, and not to items (or prices) offered by other sellers on our site. Does not apply to any products purchased at Amazon.com's other sites, including Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca, or any other web site operated by Amazon.com or its affiliates.
  • Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to not-yet-released books, CDs, videos, DVDs, software, and video games sold by Amazon.com. It does not apply to other product lines or to items that have already been released.
  • Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to qualifying items displaying the offer message on their product detail pages. Items that do not display the offer message do not qualify, regardless of the nature of the items.
  • If your order enters the shipping process before the release date and the price is lowered before the end of the day of the release date, we will automatically refund your credit card for the difference between the price you were charged and the release-date price. If you did not use a credit card to pay for your order, please contact Customer Service.

Sadly Star Wars Armada is not a "book, CD, video, DVD, software, or video game" so you might what top check this again before busting out the cash for this ...great deal. Remember the words "applies only to", very important here.

IMHO, order these somewhere else.

Wont be a problem....i've ordered games MANY times from Amazon (including X-Wing!), and they have always been covered. They actually do list them under "Books" generally, as indeed they have in this case.

And like we've said....worst case scenario you can just get it elsewhere. You dont have to pay anything you dont want to, and they dont charge until it ships.

If they do up the price and refuse to honour the old price, I'll just take my money elsewhere, so no big problem :)

Exactly. It's literally zero risk, that's the thing :)

Has an ISBN (i.e., "International Standard Book Number,") so that probably fulfills the "book" requirement. It's stocked and distributed like a book, and after all, there will be a book in it… Yes, there are other toys in it. But so did the Thomas the Tank Engine activity set book I bought my son for Christmas.

I think all the worrying is much ado about nothing. But even if it isn't, well, as Extropia and nekomatafuyu said, we can always cancel and shop around again.

Oh, a tip for any students out there - because it's classed as a book, the NUS discount does apply. That brings it to £44.04 :)

Edit: Although it's now showing as not available. I wonder if someone realised they were selling it too cheap and pulled the plug...

Just checked--you're right. However, it doesn't seem to have changed any orders already made. It still shows on my account as an "open order" with a delivery date of May 1-8, so they haven't canceled or anything.

We'll see!

Must be because of quantity ordered, when I got mine it showed delivery as April 28 - May 2.

Edit: As a side note, it is now classified as a board game and has made it to the #1 seller catagory XD

Could depend where in the world you are - for me its Mid May delivery but I am down in New Zealand :P

US doesn't have anymore but the UK site has expansions up now.

If those are as relatively cheap I may end up getting more ships than planned...

Sadly not. Comparing them with Wayland Games (the only other place I've seen listing the expansions yet), some of the expansions are slightly cheaper, and some are slightly more expensive.
