Last year both Rebel Epics were announced at the same time, and were released at the same time.

That isn't exactly conclusive proof that we won't get a 2nd Imperial Epic. But so far, FFG has always announced everything together.

Wave 1-6 have all had all the ships part of that wave in the same announcement, both the Rebel Epics as well. The only examples of a single release were the two aces packs but that's all there was.

Would be a real shame if we didn't... I'm still dying for that "Imperial Transport" from Rebels with a pair of ESB-blue TIE Fighters...

Between title cards and basic upgrades the Raider might be able to fulfill both gun ship or support ship depending on upgrades. And possibly both if cost is no issue.

The article specifically said it was 150 meters long, the same size as the CR-90

Its priced the same as the CR-90

It is divided into 2 sections just like the CR-90

Everything about the announcement just screams "Imperial, wedge shaped equivalent to the CR-90"

Hopefully we will get an Imperial Gozanti as the transport equivalent eventually.

A few semi-random thoughts.

The Gozanti is possible, but as I said it's not normal for FFG to announce everything at the same time. So if one is coming it seems likely it will won't be anytime soon.

FFG doesn't seem to feel a need to keep parity between the factions. The Empire has had 1 more large ship then the Rebels ever since wave 3.

The game design behind the 3 ships seems to be different, so FFG may not feel the need to produce a support Epic ship for the Empire.

Dang straight! If for no other reason than that I need to have TIE Fighters that are ESB-blue, to match the rest of my Imperial fighter fleet, and that would be easily the best place to release a pair of them...

But that is probably because they originally thought the HWK was supposed to be a large ship (like most everyone else). It's official size being so small probably caught them by surprise. If you adjust for that, then the 2 factions DO maintain a remarkable parity.

They had to know how big it was going to be fairly early on. Far enough in advance to come up with something else if they wanted to.

So no I don't think that's it. Besides they could of put the YT-2400 or even YT-2000 in wave 4 if that were the case.

I just think that FFG doesn't see a need to keep parity on the size of ships, and frankly I agree with them. You don't need 2 Imperial Epic ships to make Epic games work.

A smaller support ship would step alllllll over the Lambdas toes in Epic games. And like others have said, FFG's been pretty clear about the two sides not being the same.

I seem to remember there being a gap in between the two Rebel epic ships.

The transport was sold at least a month maybe two prior to the Tantive hitting stores.

They were sold at different times though. I pretty certain of this. They were shown at Gencon 13 at the same time, this is true.

Yes, they were first announced at the same time, but they were most definitely released separately. I got a couple games in with the transport before the cr-90 was in stores.
