As I am sure many people are aware the Imperial Huge ship has been announced and it is a new ship that FFG has whipped up (with Lucasfilm). My question for the community is since this ship now "exists" will it make a showing in the near future of Armada or will we see "traditional" picket ships (such as the Lancer and Carrack) first?
Imperial Gladiator
Hopefully the Lancer and Carrack, but who knows. It's a pretty nice ship, but i'd prefer the more "old school" ships first personally.
Ahh the Gladiator class itself wasn't made by FFG. It first appeared in the old Droids cartoon and also appeared in The Force Unleashed games and Saga edition RPG. Dividing the class into Gladiator-I and Gladiator-II models is new though,
Ah yeah, i assumed he meant the Raider, not the Gladiator. We know already that the Gladiator is coming, and is of course not a new design.
No doubt the Raider (and the next one, whatever it turns out to be) will fill in some of the gaps in the smaller ship side of the Imperial fleet.
Yeah I did mean the Raider, I really should have paid more attention, but with finals going on I may be a little distracted from Star Wars.
Personally I would hope for Lancers at least first, ( I want to run an all capital list with no fighters at some point)
On the upside...if this does come, it IS an anti-fighter Corvette, so might cover that for you anyway. I dearly hope for Lancers as well though, i love those dumb looking, awesome things.
Incidentally, i just read "Tarkin". No spoilers, but I can confirm that the following ships are 100% canon, as this book is new "offical" canon:
Carrack
Victory
Imperial Escort Carrier (the big blobby one)
CR-90 (by that name)
So thats nice
Oh that's all?
I haven't read it myself but those I talk to who have said there were more ships in there. Specifically at least three different interdictor models by name
Yep, also the cc-7700, Immobiliser 418' and cc-2200 interdictions are also all now officially canon.
So far, the existing ships look like they will mostly be surviving.
Well the OT era ones at least. I doubt we'll see many, if any, of the new program ships or other EU designs that were created post Endor,
