Anyone else feel the 'Advanced Targeting Computer' was meant to be more widely used?

As to your 'proposed build'...I'd say that's exactly why this should be allowed on other fighters. At 5 points, it's going to be REALLY hard to justify the cost, but it could still be useful in some 'not optimal/for fun' builds. As it is, it has a cost that is never seen - it's effectively a one-point card, for no good reason. It's expensive enough (base), that it wouldn't break any other Imperial ship...but offer some potentially amusing variations.

It's not 5 points. It is 1 point, for the Advanced. Would it be available to other ships it would be significantly less than 5 points, more like 2 or 3.

Don't get hung up on that 5, you must take into account the 4(!) point discount the title gives the advanced to every systems upgrade. Free Sensor Jammers or Advanced Sensors.

But what about the 'advanced fire control' is only usable on a single fighter??

Well, the X1 had more advanced targeting than other ships at that time, capable of retaining a target lock where other ships would have lost it, according to wookieepedia.

...which never gets replicated on any other Imperial ship, ever? Including both the TIE Phantom and TIE Defender, canonically developed years after the TIE Advanced?

Well I don't know and frankly I don't frigging care either.

Quit your whining. They've delivered a fix for the Advanced and delivered in spades and scarcely more than two hours later there's this thread complaining that it's wrong.

It confused me at first but I think I get the reason for it.

One is to give the icon to the TIE advanced and fix the point cost. The other card is to also give it a unique upgrade that makes sense.

I like it.

I'm going to get a couple more now. I bet these things will start to fly off the shelf.
