Is +1 damage really worth the 3 points, through?
ATC doesn't affect secondary weapons. But it's also not a 5-dice attack fired with a focus and target lock.

Generics with AC could possibly get a ton of mileage out of ion pulse, though
At range 1, the advance will be rolling 3 plus a guaranteed crit so I'm not sure there's much warrant for prot rockets on an atc advance .
On an AC tie, however, it could be quite sexy (just hopefully won't have to use AC on the rocketvroll, cause then your dice hate you
)
IMO, the system slot fix removed the advances' need for ordenence to do damage worth its cost. Short of ion pulse (which I believe can be guaranteed by AC if firing on low ago), I don't see much need for it unless you want AC tempests to open a can of whoopass on falcons/decimators and the like (because 2 hits per 21 points won't cut it there)
I actually think AC may be strong against the uber-Falcon. 2 guaranteed hits a round replicates its consistency. If the rest of your squad can appropriately capitalize on it.... scary for the bird.

I agree completely. Plus with the Advanced I think they needed to be a bit blatant about it. Make sure it's clear just what you need to do to make it work better. I'm also quite happy to see that my 2 advances may show up on the table at the same time.
Mostly it's the trend that I find annoying. A lot of the Scum stuff feels the same to me - Kavil+Blaster Turret+R4, anyone? It's not that they're bad abilities, it just feels like there's very little depth there to build interesting interactions with.
The advantage of AC is less damage and more that it allows you to put all of your actions into mobility/defense, and more importantly means that the Advanced doesn't have to rely on actions. It can k-turn/take stress and still get those two hits, while an ATC Advanced needs to keep that action free.

I understand what you mean. But the X1 title does offer a fair amount of depth. Lets you use any system upgrade without increasing the cost of the ship.
Do you use FCS, Accuracy Corrector, Adv Targeting computer or even AdvSen?
I do think thatvits not as in depth as it could be since AC and ATC are the no brained system upgrades
However, we still have 3 unrevealed pilots with which to shake things up
Also, much more importantly, it adds vairirty by making the ship viable ![]()

I slapped together a quick list earlier with Vader, Maarek, and Vessery + new upgrades. Didn't look half bad. Put VI on Maarek and swarm tactics on Vader and everyone shoots at 9.

I've thought about it, but I still have to decide what to do with the 27pts left:
Darth Vader + Predator + Engine Upgrade + Advanced Targetting Computer (37pts)
Colonel Vessery + Veteran Instinct (36pts)
...
Maybe a Royal Guard + Push the Limit + Autothruster (if you,re afraid of turrets) or Targeting Computer (to maximize Vessery ability) (27pts)
...
But I'm waiting to see what the cheap new Advanced will look like.

Interesting. I would personally give Predator to Maarek too, I'm not fond of PtL on the Advanced.

I call it the "Why don't you just leave your damage deck over here by me" build.
Anyone else noticed that, as we get four named pilots for it (a whole Ace Pack's worth of uniques) this catapults the TIE advanced to third place for unique pilots? It'll be one behind the TIE interceptor which has seven and two behind the X-wing which has eight.

That's a good point, and I don't think we'll be seeing that change any time soon. We'd need new Aces packs for the ships that have already been featured, and I imagine that won't be the case. If I had to bet, E-Wings and Bombers are most likely up for the Aces treatment next.
That said, I have no idea what the Imps are getting in Wave VII, so that could easily change!

I've no interest in huge ships, nor in paying a kit of money for something I'll only ever use once in a blue moon. This is pretty customer unfriendly in my view.

Advanced Targetting Computer synergize so well with the named Advanced Pilots that it's hard to think of a better fix/upgrade they could have done.
Vader Crew gives a crit after you attack; ATC add a crit to your dice result if you have a target lock (I have you now).
Maarek needs to land a crit for his ability to work; ATC gives you a free crit.
So elegant FFG. I can't wait to see what the new pilots do.
