At 21 points I'd take the basic X1 Tempest with accuracy corrector as a direct counterpoint to a Rookie X-Wing along with more elite ships like Defenders.

2 of them wouldnt make a bad escorts for a Decimator too.

The named pilots should probably all use the Targeting System. Maarek's ability screams for it, the PS5 pilot has some synergy, and Vader should always know who he'll have a shot at after he moves.

There should be no debate whether Vader's X1 is eligible for "TIE Advanced Only" upgrades. He's specifically mentioned in the article as benefiting from the new upgrades.

Accuracy Corrector+Cluster Missiles works even if the ATC doesn't 25 points 3 agility 5 HP and you can burn up 3PO+Falcon Title with 1 Shot, then get 2 more "hits" with round 2 and still have 3 other ships firing too potentially coming close to wiping out a Falcon in one round (14 hits after 3PO and Falcon Evade are taken off, not counting the Falcon's natural Agility roll and if you roll more than 2 hits and/or get crits)

I just played this against Bigs Walks the Dogs...

Only lost one Tempest.

To say the Advanced is one bad mother.... (shut your mouth) is an understatement.

I also played the following against Biggs Walks the Dogs and lost ZERO ships:

Cmd Alozen+Pred+ATC

Soontir Fel+PTL+TC+Autothrusters

ATC is just sick. Adds a guaranteed crit die result at the cost of a single TL! Cmd Alozen got beat up in the first pass (he was caught with out an Evade because he took a TL) but after that he used the same TL just about the entire game (or got free ones) and was able to evade or barrel roll out of trouble. Vader and ATC is lethal.

Tempest + Title + FCS + Cluster Missiles X 4

Shoot at the Falcon at Range 3. Gain a TL then move in for the kill. If you can manage to get all 4 alive and into range 1 or 2 you are rolling 24 attack dice against the Falcon. It will ******* melt.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I imagine 24 modified attack dice on round 2 will be brutal against any list.

Also, I'm really happy to see that there's 4 copies each of the X1 title and the Adv. TC in the Raider pack.

Vader is worded differently than PTL or Experimental Interface. He only allows 2 actions in the Perform Action step, which you skip, thus your only source of actions is the 1 granted by Advanced Sensors.

If you use this ability, you must skip your "Perform action" step during this round.

Since it only lets you perform one action, and you skip the perform action step, Vader misses out on his second action.

If the card is changed to say "take 2 actions" then everyone gets to do it. Changing it to "take as many actions are you're allowed to in the perform action step" is both confusing and too much text.

I agree completely. Plus with the Advanced I think they needed to be a bit blatant about it. Make sure it's clear just what you need to do to make it work better. I'm also quite happy to see that my 2 advances may show up on the table at the same time.

Still would have preferred a straight 4 point cost reduction to the ship for some tanky wingmen. darnable shoehorn.

I do think predator + ATC is the right wat to go on Vader, mainly because he can then use his actions mostly defensively without worry. 3/4 green dice with focus + evade is no joke, especially not with 2 shield & 3 hull.

Mareek and marksman I'm less sure because that's a naked ship defense-wise and doesn't gel with the advamce's stacked bar. Could maybe be best to predator mareek too and push the guaranteed crit through enemy agility/focus/evade.

I dont think those suggesting Prockets are saying theyre for use with the ATC, but the Advanced is one of the best platforms for the Prockets anyway. It doesnt hurt to take them and unload right in someones face with TL and Focus.

Make the title also for defender, and we're good. Just thinking out loud.

ATC doesn't affect secondary weapons. But it's also not a 5-dice attack fired with a focus and target lock.

At range 1, the advance will be rolling 3 plus a guaranteed crit so I'm not sure there's much warrant for prot rockets on an atc advance .

On an AC tie, however, it could be quite sexy (just hopefully won't have to use AC on the rocketvroll, cause then your dice hate you )

IMO, the system slot fix removed the advances' need for ordenence to do damage worth its cost. Short of ion pulse (which I believe can be guaranteed by AC if firing on low ago), I don't see much need for it unless you want AC tempests to open a can of whoopass on falcons/decimators and the like (because 2 hits per 21 points won't cut it there)
