it looks like the emperor is a crew upgrade
A part of me thinks having the Emperor riding on a Vette, seems a bit out of place... Not that I wouldn't use him if he's a cool crew. Just lore wise it's a bit odd.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!
ALLL THEE CAAAPS!
I need new boxers!
The only way this news could be better is if FFG has already shipped them to our homes with rush delivery and charged our bank accounts because they already know how hard we all want this.

He flies to the DS2 on a Lambda.
free accuracy corrector is going to be disgusting (also note, the title is not unique)
hope they have 2 of those cards in the expansion or else there'll be some serious money grubbin going on
I think we'll see a lot more 1 point ATCs than we will see free Accuracy Correctors. I'll let someone else do the math but I'd guess that 1 guaranteed crit + 2-3 dice of damage will be a better choice than 2 guaranteed hits.
So it looks like it falls between the CR90 and the GR75 in size. Doesn't seem to have a fore and aft section, either.
I see what looks like two separate damage decks like the transport and Corvette have, so I'd say it does.
It really does look great. I cringe at saying this but: FINALLY A WEDGE SHIP FOR IMPS!!

Edited by vyragoIt does have 2 sections. If you look at the ship tile, there is a blue "fore - aft" dividing line just like the other Epic ships. It is easy to miss because of the HUGE firing arcs, but it's there.

Let's hope he's "Huge Ship Only" so I don't have to process the mental image of him riding shotgun in a Phantom.
I... came.
Fluff text in the article says the Raider was first built 6 BBY.
Isn't that the timeline for the Rebels cartoon? Not sure, but that would make it the easiest place to canonize this ship.

Fully agree. The Accuracy Corrector is more flexible and less action intensive, but the Advanced is already a tank.
Looks like Advanced Sensors makes Vader lose 1 action.
Am I reading both cards right?

Yep, I was wrong. ![]()
It still seems to be smaller than the CR-90, but I'm anxious to see how they stack up in real life. And still curious to know if there will be another huge. If this is the answer to the CR-90, then maybe the Gozanti, being smaller, might still show up as a counter to the GR-75.

Sure but I don't think he came all that way on the Lambda... Plus that's not a combat ship it's a transport. It's not like the Emperors Shuttle would be getting into a dogfight.
The Raider is from what they said in the article part of a ISD's escort, not a ship that's out flying on it's own. Why would the Emperor be on the smallest ship with the least amount of defense's in combat?
Isn't that the timeline for the Rebels cartoon?
Yeah right around there. In one of the episodes they were having the 15th annual Empire Day.
So I was wondering, can you equipt TIE/X1 on Vader?
The card says TIE Advanced Only
Vader's card says TIE Advanced X1
All the others say TIE Advanced

Yep, I think you're totally right. Advanced Sensors would be an "only if you REALLY need to use this" card for Vader. Might still be useful, though.

Wikipedia says Rebels is in 5 BBY. So we could see a Raider on that show if they coordinate well enough to make it happen.
Edited by DanthraxWow, FFG just kind of dropped the mic on us.
"No iconic wedge shaped Imperal ships that fit Epic scale? NP, we'll just create a new (CANON) one"
"Oh, hello FFG X-Wing forums! We'll see your free System upgrade slot, and raise you 4 points for a free upgrade."
So I was wondering, can you equipt TIE/X1 on Vader?
Two schools of thought.
1) they'll FAQ/Errata it so he can. Or even reword the card before it's released.
2) Since Vaders already has a Tie Advanced X1 he gets the effects of the title anyway.
Free upgrade, no drawback, no unique limitation. Interesting. Well, this officially means every single tie advanced will have a system upgrade. There's literally no reason not to.
Agreed - that's sort of disappointing to see.
I would have preferred a slightly more powerful upgrade that HAD a cost...or maybe a similar upgrade with a serious opportunity cost or disadvantage or something...
As it is, there is nothing balancing this out - sure, the Advanced needed a fix, but...this way...as noted, it's just a card every TIE Advance will always be taking.
Kinda...lame.

Quick, what does it say on the dial he uses?
Looks like you TIE Advanced fans are about to be very happy.

AH! YES! YEEEEEEEES! MuhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAh
But im sorry to say that the epic ship sucks ... somehow
I mean ... solar wings like an interceptor? oh common!
If I get one, my first duty will be to snap them off ...
So how will Vader work on the Epic ship? Will he only damage the hull section he is on?

Excellent point, I guess we have been using the wrong dial for Vader all along. ![]()
I wonder where the real, hidden dial is.
Will he only damage the hull section he is on?
I'd assume he could damage either section. R2-D2 lets you put shields on either section of a CR-90.
