Puget Sound 2015 Store Championships

By Jo Jo, in X-Wing Organized Play

Hey there, I'm the guy who ran the Roark/Wedge list at the CK champ placing T-3rd. It looks like nobody's posted the specifics for the other list that tied with me, the Chewbo build, so I figured I'd post that up since it's a guy from my store who ran it and I know what it was :)

Chewbacca w/ PTL, Kyle Katarn, C3PO, and Millennium Falcon title

Leebo w/ Lone Wolf, Outrider, Mangler Cannon, and Recon Specialist

Enjoy!

I don't want to ask her right now because she has two very long, very sharp looking knitting needles.

ETA: She gave me the eyes of daggers. I think it is a no go.

I was at the Card Kingdom one. Lost 3, one 1, and a bye. I was running a Deci with vader and expose and 2 royal guard PTL interceptors.

Fantasium comics in federal way has a store championship on March 15th, not sure what time though.

That would be on the 1st post. ;)

Does anyone have any inside info or speculation about where Regionals might be? They did Boise and Spokane last year so seems like something like Coeur d'Alene, Seattle and Portland would make the most sense.

Sense didn't seem to have much to do with it last year.

So many store championships tomorrow!

My tie swarm did pretty good. 4 academies, 2 scimitars with seismic charges, and backstabber. I took 8th at the CK tournament because I lost by initiative. At the end, it was 2 academies and a scimitar vs an Ethan with R2-D2 Adv Sensors, and PTL. I got it down to 1 hull in one turn but it managed to regenerate all the way the rest of the game. It was a very good game and I am glad I made it that far.

I don't think I will be going to any other tournaments this year since I am getting married and I doubt my fiance would look too kindly on skipping the wedding for an x-wing tournament.

Hey, I was the Etahn player. Helluva game man--despite my terrible opening to it. I really overestimated that 5 straight. I almost never use it since the rest of the swarm can't keep up if he does. Anyway congrats on getting married man! Hope we meet up again and you can kick my ass next time. You deserved a win there, and probably would've had it if not for the backstabber backfire there...

Hey it was great to meet/play you--even though you scoffed at my cough drops. Where do you play normally? We Bellinghamsters need to go on road trips once in a while. It gets a tad incestuous up here...

I at least hope there is one between Vancouver, Portland, or Seattle (honestly should be 2). The two Regionals last year seemed like there were picked by someone who has never looked at a map.

I think the Boise Regional had 16 participants. The average number of players for the SC's here are in the 20s.

So... did anyone go to a SC Saturday?

I won the SC at Olympic Cards & Comics on Saturday with Panic Attack.

Did you see more Scum at this event? First weekend only managed about 10% usage. I'd hope second weekend would push closer to 20-25%.

The event had 20 players total and only one player ran Scum; one of my friends that I carpooled up with. He ran dual Aggressors and placed 2nd.

i played in the store championship at mox boarding house. i took third with this.

FYI,FFG has posted the Regional Locations: Boise (again), Tacoma, Vancouver...

I played at Fantasium Comics (Federal Way) Store Championship yesterday. Had a lot of fun. There were 24 entrants total. I went 2-2 in swiss and missed the round of 8 by a few spots (I believe even the highest MoV 2-2 players just missed the cut).

Had a lot fun. But I have to say... of all the tourney's in the last 3-4 weeks... this was BY FAR the most scum I have seen at a tourney. There were 3 lists with the 2 aggressors and I managed to face scum the entire 4 matches I played in swiss and yet, I never face a 2 aggressor list. YES you read that right: I face nothing but scum for four matches and managed to NOT play the 3 lists that were IG88B and C.

I was there too. I ran the three Y wings and one B wing. There was a lot of scum, but I only faced one scum list. All the rest were Decimators plus escort. That is three Decimators out of the four rounds of swiss. Made the top eight, another Decimator. Made it to top four, and lost to the first Decimator list I had played that day.

But the important thing is that I had a great time, and played against some great people. Glad you had fun too.

I made top 8 at Fantasium, but was knocked out by the 3x Starviper and HWK list. Does anyone know who got 1st place?

It came down to Chris Graff and Peta (don't know his last name). Both were flying Decimators and Fel, but Peta also had an academy pilot. Peta conceded the game as he had already won a store championship, and it was getting very late. So the championship went to a very deserving Chris Graff.

Once I got knocked out, I had to root for either The StarViper or Y-Wing list. They were both magnificent. :D

Thanks, but we both got knocked out after the cut to top four.

As the last know Puget Sound store Champ looms closer, like the Death Star closing in on Yavin Base, I just wanted to give a shout out and say thanks to Joe for posting and managing this thread. It was super useful and interesting to follow. Also, it was great meeting and playing with a lot of you guys at the events. Thanks for the games, sportsmanship and fun community! Lastly to all those still looking to lock in that win this weekend at Game Matrix, good hunting and may the force be with you!

Just a FYI for game matrix store championship. With current rsvp of 16 first place prize will be a set of one of each wave 6 ship. Additional prize support will be based off attendance.
